Well it's the start of day 74 and this b**ch is still building bud. I bought a couple mini LED's for this cabinet so I'll be able to move my 730 flood to the bigger cabinet and add some 660 nm to the Cree's. Anybody used any of these?

If any one else is thinking of buying one of those LED floods do your self a favor and go to aliexpress and look up LED Grow Flood. 10W Floods start at roughly 15 bucks. And you can pick the spectrum.

I saw a pack of 4 50W floods $125 shipped, I believe.. Ask Slinger36.

Chronikool tried them. I think he had some failure issues. They also take up a fair amount of head room

You know what's great about those floods is that they're pretty easily upgradable, so you'll get your money's worth on the housing. I just grabbed 2 SMD arrays as an upgrade/replacement, dirt cheap with new drivers for $22 I think. Plus those houses are ready for COBs which will be dirt cheap soon for decent quality ones. The thing with the average flood is it's usually a blue/yellow white, I think the WWs use some red phosph., so not great for flowering by themselves. Also the CRIs are low and the efficacy is usually shit, relatively speaking, which is not something you want as a grower IMO. But if you can find decent quality spots, they should work.

So you think 188 watts is overkill? If I removed 4 bulbs from the top it would bring me down to 150 to 152 depending on which ones I removed, I think the 4 bulbs I have for side lighting should stay.....................Id rep you all day for this show^^^.............truly amazing with household leds, excellent grow and grower!!!!
Gonna give us a dry weight brother???? allot of wattage for 1 plant, but I think the # will be good...........
I'm planning on putting up some pics when I chop and I'll add dry weight later.

BTW you definitely need to tell me your supersoil recipe..........if you have the time

Well it was a work in progress when I made the first post and I no longer have a edit button for the OP. In short,the 5000k Cree's were out of stock everywhere and I had 5000k CFL's in their place which I replaced once I could get the Cree's and I had a bunch of CFL side lighting that I ditched right away and replaced with 4 2700k Cree's so it's been 188 watts of Cree since those early changes. The super soil has changed every time I make a batch, I'll post the recipe of my next batch when I get some extra time.My friend its NEVER overkill IF you can cool it

Exactly. Lower operating cost, lower temps (why looked at this in the first place), and the ever-improving spectrum recipe.
Also LEDs offer the end of a single point source for light. Powerful smaller panels with lenses for penetration. A small array to accommodate different heights, side penetration, etc.

My experience with the Crees, due to the position of the diodes, is they are best suited for side lighting, where a few goes a long way, thanks to leaves not blocking their output.
Yes you can make a hood, but it's not the same as unimpeded light aiming precisely where you want it.
