it is something people say to vegans "well if you were in the woods or on a desert island you couldnt be a vegan than you would have to eat animals to stay alive" , so the meme is funny because she wants to be a vegan but she is constantly being put into positions where you cant be, like in stranded in the woods or on a desert island lol
 
So qwizhole is a pharmacist who also owns a ranch with 400 head of steer and smokes atleast a qp a week. Anyome else have any waders, the shit is getting deep.
 
Well technically its family ranch..... what of it. Its a 10,000 acre and a ranch is the norm for some people...I don't run it... and yea I found an interest in pharmaceuticals and decided to make a li living off it....I also smoke a lot... like I said troll.... what do you do for a living?
 
One distinction that I have made between vegans/vegetarians and hunters is that vegans/vegetarians take a passive role in nature while hunters take an active role in nature. Hunters are the true eyes and ears of environmental issues. Hunters have a deep respect for their environment and understand that there is a balance. Vegans will hike and bird watch on nicely maintained trails in state parks where you see very little activity while a hunter will go deep into the woods to scout a hunting location 6 months prior to opening season.

Vegans get warm and fuzzy when they don't eat meet and hunters get warm and fuzzy when they have proven their skills. Most vegans couldn't walk out into their local environment and forage for food but a hunter could probably show you 10 different things to eat no matter the season.

IMO hunting/fishing/trapping/foraging are vital parts of the human experience and without them we would be missing out on what it is to be human.

also im a canadian girl i know how to hunt kill shoot skin cook and eat any animal indigenous to my country , i also used to be a big fisher, i would think most vegans know how to do simple hunter skills as they most likely became vegan later in life. the argument of "if you were stuck in middle of nowhere you couldnt survive because you like to roll around in bunnies and eat salad" is kinda stupid , if survival comes down to survival it is neither being vegan nor a regular meat eater that will give you the chance of survival it is whether or not you know how to survive by smarts, and educating yourself in wilderness
 
just about any 20 year old female or male regardless of their diet would die in the wilderness because theyre so stuck on technology and dont know how to shit in the woods. let alone survive.

My post wasn't directed at you sunni. I appreciate that you respect a hunter's lifestyle and I think it speaks volumes about your character that you have outdoor skills and understand both sides of the issue. This is why I love my Canadian friends. They have a serious appreciation for nature and how to be apart of it.

directed? no. probably not, but its quite a big assumption to make that vegans cant survive in the wilderness if need be lol ,

I don't think it's a big assumption at all. I will change it to the MAJORITY of vegans/vegetarians can't survive in the wilderness. It would be impossible to survive in the wilderness for any length of time without some form of protein. You would either starve to death or freeze to death.

in a survival situation they would most likely eat whatever they could if it came down to life or death but everyday life isnt about life or death people have a choice, veganism is about reducing the amount of harm to living animals, but if youre about to die because youre stuck in alaska and theres nothing to eat but a deer youre gunna eat the deer. lol again thats why i posted the meme, in a life or death situation vegans would eat meat
 
Sunni, probably a Canadian thing! A bunch of my friends that are vegan have been so since we were teenagers. Alot started as vegetarians. Thats when the grocery store deli would sell you a whole sub with no meat for $2!

I thought mushrooms were loaded with protein? Would eating a few grubs disqualify one as a vegan or vegetarian??

Sent two pigs off to market this afternoon and had another momma pop out 11 babies this morning.

Did you know pigs can have a litter of around a dozen every six months. Their gestation period is only 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. 200lbs in 6 months.

I love bacon.

Both good points. Edible mushrooms are seasonal though and I don't know that many people could tell the difference between the poisonous and edibles. Yes, city folk or people from the burbs are pretty much sitting ducks although they can be taught the basics very quickly and some of them actually enjoy their primal side once they get a taste of it.
