Western WA Newbie Backyard grow

First time grower here in Western Washington State. We didn't want to go to our legal limit this year in the event things did not work out for one reason or another. We picked up a few clones from a local collective, three "Kandy Skunk" and 1 "Harlequin." The clones were placed in sterilized sour cream containers and kept in the shade for the first week. We used some potting soil from Fred Meyer and perlite as the medium. So far so good, I just hope we can finish these girls. Unfortunately the location where these girls are only gets about 7 hours of direct sun per day so that may limit them. I also hope the 5 gallon buckets will be enough!

Any comments, questions or constructive criticism is welcome, I just want to share my progress with someone as keeping this secret from our friends and family is a (worthwhile) pain in the but being proud first time parents I'll try to update this regularly!

6/16/2013 - Clones purchased and put outside. The first is the Harlequin, the rest are the "Kandy Skunks."



7/7/2013 - All (Harlequin followed by KS) are now in 3 gallon pots except for one which is in 5 gallon bucket as we came out one 3 gallon pot shy. They have been in these homes since June 27th and were fed with FloroNova Grow then. They all had great root balls at the time of transplant and were definitely ready to get out of the sour cream buckets! The rest will be going to 5 gallon buckets next weekend.

7/12/2013 - Putting the rest in 5 gallon buckets this evening. harlequin is the third one below, kandy kush (not skunk as I originally posted at first) the rest. No topping or anything yet, kind of torn on whether or not I should do that with these clone-born girls.

Last one is the main top on the kandy kush in the 5 gallon bucket.

Same here, near Everett. There are so many tall trees surrounding our yard that they might not get as much direct sunlight as they would like but they still seem happy and we are having fun.

Seattle. But I spend most of my time in Tacoma And Puyallup Area because that's where Work and Family is.

Yeah man they don't really get a Good amount of light. This week though is all 80s so they'll have fun.
The extra light that's lost is compensated with more, or just bigger Plants Lol!

8/03/2003 - Harleguin first, then the Kandy Kush. First application of neem today due to general paranoia.

They look beautiful, in the Northern Seattle area and was wondering what outdoor runs would look like in this climate. With the stretching they are getting I wonder if an outdoor scrog would do particularly well here to prevent plants peaking over fences. Will be following along for the ride.

I would think a scrog would do well provided there is enough sun. Attached is the end result of a project today. Hopefully they will get the same amount of sunlight as the plastic isn't quite clear. At the very least they are ready to stay dry during the rains and have a little room to breathe. Note that there are a few bag seed plants in there as well waiting to show signs of sex.

8/18/2013 - Too difficult to take individual photos now. 2 of the three bag seed plants dropped their balls so they have been executed.

8/23 - No signs of any bugs outside of a good number of garden spiders which I will keep. Showing some signs of PM so I gave 'em a shower with Green Cure. All seem happy!

Looking good man I'm excited to see how the Harlequin turns out. I just started some Pennywise from TGA it's Harlequin X Jack the Ripper. I'm looking forward to having a high CBD strain. Glad to see there's other people from WA on here I'm over on the eastside.

We are barely getting pre-flowers on the Harlequin, seems to be a late bloomer. Since this one isn't meant for huge THC production (the CBDs do wonders for my wife's neuropathy) I am hoping it will be done enough by first frost.

The one without obvious hairs is the Harlequin, hopefully she will be starting soon. Everything else is going good, first two are the bag seed plant, the others Kandy Kush. The photos are deceptive, these are tiny buds
