Bullshit some of the most secure website's in the world today get hacked for personal info. If you think that just because you are using a reputable company, your info is safe and sound, I'd think again my friend. Companies can take measure's but they can't %100 guarantee that your info is safe and that's just the truth of the matter.

I'm not sticking up for SOS as far as I'm concerned they had no security at all, but what do you expect anybody to do about it now that it's happened? What can I do about it? Better yet what can you do about it?

Do you expect anybody that's ever ordered of SOS to contact there authorities and say " Hey bro just wondering if you got my personal info that was leaked on the net the other day and if you did could please just delete it and forget you ever seen it"

I don't know what people are expecting SOS to do? Maybe turn back time and undo what's happened? Come back to the real world people!!

As for me sos has been a GODSEND for BUDGET disabled dudes like myself..TRUTH is WEATHER U BELIVE IT OR NOT..(FORMER NAVY SEAMAN SUB DIVISION) unless your a government employee and i mean a HI RANKING employee ALL OF OUR INFO IS SAFE..Big brother has BEEN had a close eye on us since the first bush admin..so in all truth i could care less..card or no card..the GOV only really goes after the fish that needs to be caught anyways..im PATIENTLY waiting for sos to get back up to place another order..wise man told me once in san fran..U NEED HEART N BALLZ to grow this plant in the us..god bless america

No I don’t believe it for one minute!! Wikileaks ring any bells? Can you honestly say that top secret docs have never ever been leaked before?

History proves otherwise and the proof is in the pudding. Information has been leaked from the dawn of modern civilization.

Here’s an example found in 2 minutes flat http://www.globalresearch.ca/bradely-manning-full-leaked-testimony/5326526 In this particular example the leak occurred abroad. Did Big brother stop it? Sorry he can't get everything. Again you can take measures but it still gets out one way or another.

Do a bit of research and you’ll find dozens if not hundreds.

Please note I have no opinion on that case I only used it as an example.

Hes not saying Big Brother is protecting us or our data. They are already have access to all of our info,the only thing stopping them is thr image of propriety and constitutional legality if they are challenged ( Which most people dont havr the money to challenge). There was an article yesterday on msn about the FBI already reading peoples emails without warrants. They do this with the help of unscrupulous State AGs. Meaning they are interpreting yhr constitiution to suit their needs and dont expect challenges because of states rights. Only way to get it to change is scotus. Freedom of info act is helping ACLU release the facts.

We are actively being watched. Just dont makr yourself a worthwhile target by your statements here or associations.

Again, I must emphasize, that this deal with SoS was completely different. The names (some may be fake), addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses were available for anyone who can use google. No warrants needed.
 
You all are bashing SoS like this has never happened before. Vudu, the online movie service by Wal-mart, had it's building broken into and all hard drives stolen with
customer info just a few weeks ago. Now, I have to have an Identity guard program like life lock. Vudu pay's for it for one year. Remember Sony Play station last year? How many of you threw away your playstation 3's? It happens to big companies all the time, but SoS must be shut down because now they're not reputable? How many have thrown away your credit cards? You always hear on the news about some company losing credit customers information. Time to be real folks, they are a small company, a slip up happened, and they shut down their website until things are fixed. That is more than some bigger companies did.

So you could get people's CC info using just google?
 
Who cares how the info is got, it's out there. The average person searching google isn't going to do shit with the info. A criminal who stole from the companies will use the info.
 
I'm a lot more worried about my info on the stolen Vudu hard drives, than I am about someone googling my SoS info.
At least SoS shut the website down when they found out, other companies have tried to hide the fact that info breeches occured.
 
If people didn't mention it on these forums then no one would know. I only know because of what I've read here. Their site mentions nothing about an apology or anything. Just the new site notification.
 
Barnes and Noble, Wyndham hotels are a couple others that have had credit info stolen from them. anyone boycotting them?
