PS-the top of the plant is the most prominent bud at top left.

Real nice bushes jbg! What size container do you have that beast in? What nutes? Pat yourself on the back for that lovely canopy.

That's very much! I'm using 5 gallon buckets with tap water left out for 24-48 hours before using. I'm adding 1 small cap of vinegar per gallon of water to lower my ph. Fox farm grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom nutes. I change my reservoir once a week. I've got two buckets that I rotate. They're covered in duct tape to reduce light penetration and to keep the water cold. My intake blows on the reservoir 24/7 which keeps it cool in conjunction with the duct tape. I've got 8 more weeks so let's hope I can keep her healthy! Thanks again guys. It's means a lot to have others appreciate your hard work. As a first try, this is a real eye opening experience.

Hey, shwag

Im currently runnin an experiment of supercrop w/ topping VS supacrop w/ fimmin Vs LST

I got a question for ya, do you supercrop (bend) the meristem or just branches leading off the main stem?

I was thinkin maybe breaking the main stem just before each node would be a good idea?

First round in my diy hydroponic setup, would normally scrog but too inconvenient in my small grow space, so needed to SoG manually sort of speak. Besides pinching/bending/snapping I use weights to keep branches down (hard to see, but about 35 in there already).

Vegged for a little over a month, now 5 days on 12/12, 6 plants, one in the center back has nearly a week head start but kept it low by cropping. With the fast vegging in hydroponics branches recover amazingly quick.

Sounds like a fun experiment! I supercrop everything I put my hands on pretty much. Main stems early on in veg to promote more branching, then mostly secondaries after the "base" is set up. Whatever needs cropping to keep the canopy fairly consistent i will put where I want it. Throw a link up if you're journaling your experiment, I'd like to check in on it.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by breaking the mainstem before each node. I think I know what you mean, but what would your goal be by doing that?

thanks,

so you said you supacrop the main stem to promote more branching. As in the one in the center thickest central stalk? That is what I meant, "breaking" the meristem to promote more nutes to each node.. and make the mainstem more strong, thicker, and bend them how you want. Im pretty sure you got me the first time around but my wording might have thrown you off.. I have a journal going but I gotta update it with pics, Ill post a link when I get some time.

Only the last picture is new, 5 days with the two before it. The fold in the foil at theback as well as the fans show clearly the distance in height, while I'm still bending/pinching/snapping every day. Not as much to keep it low at this point but to divide it better over the space. I'm expecting to see female signs soon (about 10 days 12/12 now). After that they are going from 400w to 600w, much better quality bulb too, and then I'm going to let them do their thing.

Canopy control by cropping is working out so well, so far at leas, that I'm going to try a half-pipe or at least quarter pipe SOG next cycle (opposed to half-pipe SCROG I did last cycle), ohhh and I will name it VoG: Valley of Green :D Though "vogging"...
