No one ever gets what they want by telling the truth. Especially in this economy nowadays.

Is it wrong to lie about yourself to feed your family? Umm... Nada

New lies have to be thought up to cover old lies.
I like minnesmokers approach - tell the truth using large flowery words.
Then when hanging around the water cooler, you won't have to grope for a story.

IMO, employers don't get mad about lies on an application if you prove yourself to be a good worker and exceed their expectations. If you suck at the job or are unreliable, they will use the lie as a reason to fire you.
