Filling out a job Resume.. what should i do

alright so i worked for a company in 2007-2012 at the begging of 2012 i notice i needed a change in my life so i decided to take a break and see the world i traveled few places manly places that allow the use of cannabis well now im back home and needing a job What should i say i was doing for that year i ben putting on the resumes that i was self employed for the year but my question is can they find out if i really was self employed whats your info on this looking for ideas lmk

the type of job you're applying for makes a big difference in what your responses need to contain as far as detailed info.

Lie. Everyone is doing. You will be cool. Depending on the type of job you are seeking, say you were doing something for family or friends, that closely resembles the job and tell them how it is close and why your experience would be beneficial to them.

dude make one with a boarder type it in a microsoft office word save it and your done. never have to write one until you get the job. tailor it to the job though, defending on what they are seeking, figure out what they are in need of or what their job team does and take the skills you have and put in the resume how you fit their profile job applicant.

Just tell them the truth. Tell em, "look I needed a break. Traveled the globe, got high as fuck. And I liked it!!! If u guys are going to judge me cuz I love marijuana then fuck u!!! Plus it's medical u miserable fuckers. Fucked a chick few years back, didn't use a rubber. Caught HIV pretty fucking fast, didn't know she used to be a dude. Try not to say I so much. Tell them what you have done, not what your plan is.


Lets say this job is in computers?
You would tell them you traveled the world fixing at modifying computers under the table.
The only way they can find out HOW you were self employed is if you filed taxes. (Not Likely)

I once worked at a used car dealership. How I got the job was I told them I worked for NASA, 9/10 they don't even call to see how you were at your last job *Shrugs

Whatever you say, you need to be able to either back the story up or make sure it can't be disproved. Typically falsifying anything on a employment application is grounds for termination at any time during your employment. You don't want the employer after this one to be told you lied on the app.

A couple of my friends lied on their apps and got the job. They knew nothing about the job but read some books and went from making about $30k/yr to over $100k/yr. They work for cell phone companies, writing some code for cell towers. Been about 7 years now. Doesn't matter if they lied or not to get the job, they have the experience now.

Not only that, but lots of extremely under qualified people get their jobs simply because they knew someone, a friend or relative, yet have less than zero experience for the job.

If you are older, you took a sabbatical. You became frustrated with work, and felt that you could become more proficient, and gain a better world perspective, by taking sabbatical and travelling abroad.

One last thing: You fill out a job application, you submit a resume.

EDIT: And, contrary to what people are saying, don't lie. If you are given a position of trust, due to that lie, and the lie comes out, you may become liable in both civil and criminal court. If you get caught and aren't given a position of trust, you could have immediate termination of employment, with no unemployment benefits; and that cheating will stay with you, just like cheating at university.
