Sounds OK - you may want to mix in some perlite & lime.
HF and OF are kinda similar. Not sure of the benefit of mixing them together, or a recommended ratio.
I am using OF and Light Warrior. LW is very different than OF (it has more perlite & less nutes), so you can get a different composition from a simple blend of two soils. I got this receipe from another post: 80 LW/20 OF for seedlings, 50/50 for grow.

I am using a 50 / 50 mix for the first time. Here is a shot of my girls 38 days from Germ, they just got there first dose of nutes 2 days ago
No added perlite, this mix holds water for a while. When I transplant for flower into there 5gal Air pots they will dry out ALOT faster so this mix will work good for me. But in a regular pot I would add some perlite in for a little drainage.

Don't add lime!!! Please trust me on this one. Lime "buffs" your pH, which basically means that it sets it to 7.0, exactly 7.0. The science behind it is extremely complex, but basically the lime (Calcium) has the capacity to absorb all H+ ions within the soil, without adversely effecting the H- ions. The end result is a stable pH of 7.0. This can be a vegetable gardener's best friend, but also can be a cannabis grower's worst nightmare!!!
Please research the importance of the pH of your soil. Fox Farms has the equipment to properly set their pH levels, you don't need to be Bill Nye the Science Guy at home and think you are going to improve it. That's why they apply science to the process of making it. Phosphorous, arguably the most important nutrient considering roots can't grow without it, can only be partially uptaken by the cannabis plant at pH levels of 7.0. This will result in nutrient lockout that you will probably mistake for nutrient burn, it is one of the most common mistakes people make, and misdiagnose when starting to grow herb.
To answer your question....I think Happy Frog alone is perfect for cannabis. It needs a little peat moss added once you mix up your flowering mix (It should be a lower pH, around 6.2). But from seedling to week 1 of flowering, I use straight up Happy Frog. Ocean Forest is too heavy on the nutrients, and the nutrients in it are also slow to breakdown, which can be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.

It depends on the genetics folks. I've been using OF for years until I ran into some burning issues. Some plants can take it, while others......especially seeds and clones from DNA, Female Seeds and some Mosca brands, will burn like mad and kill your baby or stunt their growth for the first 2 weeks.
I usually wait out the 2 week "burn" period but I am getting sick of it now. After the 2 weeks are over they start growing like champs but I'm wasting time. I need to start them better and for that I need a different starter soil. I am going to try the HF in a 2 to 1 ratio putting the OF on the bottom third of the pot and HF on the top two thirds. I may even go for a 50/50 ratio but I want the roots to be happy for the first 2 weeks.

theres nothing wroth with adding lime to your mix unlike what the person said before. you have a good chance of making your soil way to acidic after a couple months of using ferts if theres no lime you will end up topdressing some. i use just ocean forest with 25% perlite and 1 tbs of lime per gallon.

I put layers of each into a small plastic tub and mix it by hand..

I think I will use it a different way. No mixing needed. I will do a 50/50 mix but will use the OF on the bottom half of the pot and the HF on the top half. This way the clones/seedlings will get a week or 2 in the cooler soil and grow down into the hotter stuff once they can handle it. I'll update this once I start a batch in a few weeks.

I've had great results using equal parts FFOF, EWC, and Coir. I add a few handfuls of perlite and vermiculite to the mix as well; usually just mix it by hand and when it feels loose enough I will stop adding the perl and verm. I also add some diatomaceous earth as it is an anti-caking agent.
I've started seeds in this mix as well, so cutting the FFOF with the other goodies seems to lower the "heat" enough for seedlings.

Dead thread ... But your pitch sounds solid.
I used to put FFOF at base of containers ( bottom 1/3 ) as a CHARGED BASE because it had all the goodies already in it. The remainder topped with light warrior or dr. earth veg mix soil. Some go straight from bag but after it French fried a few plants , I mixed it down with a lighter mix ( 50/50 ) peat mix . Perlite is a given.
