Just shows what you can do with a great deal of skill and an extremely tiny cup.

That picture is by magash from the shroomery. Not sure who was using it but if it wasn't magash, it wasn't their picture!
Anyways, those are clones that were put into flowering as soon as they rooted. That's the secret.

I believe the "secret" has more to do with not letting the plants get root bound than it does when you actually flower them. fdd keeps plants 6ft tall + in some pretty small pots and they are outdoors.
He also has kept indoor raft plants in little bitty ass post that were (what looked to me like) about 2-3 foot tall
so basically if you give the plants everything that they need, they dont NEED big roots, and will do very nicely with small ones
the guy that posted the pictures even said that they came from another user and another site.... dont be so jumpy to be so eager

a shot glass, thats gotta be fucking impossible- a clone would get root bound in a shot glass, and how do you put holes in the bottom of it, or water it for that matter! thats crazy!
I like the floor o' cups idea... thats what it is,- never ending is an exaggeration and so is sea of- but floor o' cups works... unless you dont have it on the floor!!!

No holes was one of the rules to the competition. it had to be glass and clear, and you had to take 2 pics a week of it, one showing the roots through the glass and one showing the clone. The trick is to water it severall times a day and use smaller amounts of water (only what it can drink up rather quickly without drowning the plant)
And for the last time in this thread, Plants do not get root bound it is a myth or a sign of poor gardening skills, if the plant gets everything that it needs, when it needs it then they will NOT have growth stunted because of small root space. It takes a decent gardener though and it isnt recommended for anyone just starting recently.

From what i understand cannabis, and its latin translation- has something to do with the fact that the leafs dont grow much wider that the spread of the roots. How far the leaf tips reach is based on how much the roots have spread... I understand that interpretation is based on the natural course- with no pots or advanced nutrients.... And I am positive you can avoid root bounded plants (thats clear by these challenges)- but root binding must certainly exist- even if it is only to those who cant handle the right doses of water and nutrients... In the natural world pot would never grow in a shot glass- the amazing part of these challenges is just that- they go beyond the natural world and show how human hands and an indoor setup can benefit the plant in ways unimaginable to mother earth

I apologize that I came off so rudely above now that you made this post. I agree with ya here. Ive planted cannabis in the wild and let it grow wildly in natural soil and only watered by nature, but I havent noticed any corelation between root sizes and leafs sets. I have noticed when growing wild like that though the roots structure MASSIVELY affect how well the plant will flower.
And you are right, its amazing what we all know and can do nowa days with cannabis indoors and outdoors both.

On topic, if anyone here believes 10 grams to be the maximum potential of a plant started from seed, then bound roots are, in fact, a myth. At some point a healthy plant will grow too tall and will need a stronger root base to support the mass of the plant, and it has nothing to do with skill, nutrients, lights, etc...
The only way i will be convinced is if you show me an 8 foot sativa grown in a 16 oz cup. Actions speak louder than words and a pic is worth a 1000.

actually there was a grow on overgrow I saw from someone long ago (that I cant google up any pictures for right now because it takes me hours of searching to find anything from the old overgrow site)
the guy grew a 7ft+ tree in a dixie cup just like those. All that is needed is a way to anchor it down (he used ropes from the ceiling to hold it up).
He used a drip system on a timer to feed the plant an enriched nutrient soloution.
Not sure how I come off rude in general from your point of view as I try to not make myself sound like a prick. Unlike your self obviously....
but show us what YOU can do with less than 200 post, you clearly know so much more than I.
people like you are what is about to force me to give up this forum.

This forum isnt about a bunch of people having happy go lucky convo's and being all proper, its about learning from one another and sharing our tips and tricks- you have done that well.
So dont give up the forum! Its a welcoming community if you ignore ppl like cyks who find it easier to stir the pot than grow the pot.

well gee, I dint know so many others cared about me here. speccialy someone ive just met like you( i dont remmeber seeing you on the forum before not that it would be impossible for me to miss you in this big place either).
I know there are lots of great useful members here, I just wish it was more of a "word of mouth" type site and not compiled to google. Thats generally how we get assholes here is through links they find on search engines. And thats becoming my major problem with this site. I know soemtimes I come off short, but its usually do to me being aggrivated @ that moment by something happening in the threads. However I dont ASSUALT other members pointlessly like whats his face did to me, and If I realize that ive been short with someone unintentionally I always apologize to them, either through pm or on open thread.
