LOL... well if I end up with any girls then I'm going to give it a shot in the last few weeks of flower. I look at it like this... even if it does nothing to help.... I doubt it will hurt. Plus... I've seen it mentioned in more then one book, including one I have by Jorge Cervantes. If it's good enough for him to put in print... it's good enough for me to give it a shot.

Thanks all for the suggestions and advice

I own writings of jorge cervantes and he doesnt say to add to hydro. He likes to talk like the whole world only grows in dirt.

Bullshit, I own Marijuana Horticulture and his Ultimate Grow 1&2 and he does not come off like that at all. Maybe he DOES use soil plants for example purposes a lot of the time, but he goes pretty indepth on hydro stuff too. His books and videos are gold. :)

I have a copy of 'Indoor Marijuana Horticulture' by Jorge Cervantes ISBN 1-878823-17-5.

No mentions of 'molasses' at all in the index.

'sugar' appears in the index on pages 35, 37, 51 160, 205 & 222. The index is in error on the p51 reference- the term does not appear on that page. All the other mentions of 'sugar' in the book pertain to sugar created by the plant as a building block for cellulose, which is what plants are mainly made out of.

Not only is molasses not mentioned in the book at all, there's no mention of applying sugars to plants.

It is worth noting that along with the lack of mentions of molasses and sugar as fertiliser, uranium is not mentioned anywhere in the book either, nor does Cervantes suggest that uranium should be used on plants. Nor are hydrofluoric acid, bovinity rays or orgone gas mentioned. Of course, since they do not appear in the book, Cervantes doesn't say they WON'T help you grow monster, mutant plants.

I will thus presume it's OK to treat my plants with anything that Cervantes does not mention- because the whole concept that something not being mentioned in Jorge's book proves it as safe is such a bloody good idea.

that could be... or maybe you got algae prollems or sum maybe. if you did, throwin sugar in there would help the algae thrive. did jorge cervantes write anything more in-depth about hydroponic horticulture...? the section in his grow bible was informative, but pretty basic.

I know what your trying to say... But you cannot sit there and tel me that in those hightimes magazine he doesnt get confused and start talking about soil when someone asks him a hydro question.... And please dont make me scan that page of the high times.... I have noticed that in his answeres to people he does that.. Anywho... So there is people here that add water to there DWC bubbler? ... do you only do it in the last 2 weeks when there is only water in the rez.... when i added i added in week 3.. i wanted more in there....thinking it would be better... well within 3 days that shit happens.

Maybe its that you cant mix AN nutes with it?.... no sugar with big bud?... I dont know, thats why im asking.

neither really, it mentions beneficial soil microbials as others have mentioned...then it goes on to say that many organic fertilizers contain sugars as their " secret ingredient". like i said, nothing concrete but its there... and how do your plants look...? i have seen some nasty lookin crap build up on roots thats from ferts and additives too.
