THC pills methods

I´m making some caps today sometime from badkits recipe as well I´m just tweeking it a bit for I am using herb and bho(well my BHO is more like wax and not oil.) This will be my first time trying the pills so we´ll see how it goes. Also I have never decarbed my product before making budder or glycerine tincture and my patients say my stuff is great, so I wasnt to sure of the decarbing thing either tell I read qwiz´s statement. Anyways, I´l post some pics as well once finished.

Found plenity of different ways of decarb on internet, most of them are "220F for 20min", but I decided to follow this:


BadKit didn't said, but on his tutorial he made decarb for 20min, and also do many heats and freeze on the final oil product, i'm assuming it's for decarbing, counting those 20min + the another 60-80 at 220F is the same of that decarb graphic,
on another forum that I'm also member, ppl say to use 27min 252F. (and no heat more after this)

I went for the BK's way, just chaning the decarb to post-qwet extraction and not before.

I'm messing with the cap recipes as well and am definitely interested to hear your results. I"ve been expirementing with doing teh extractions with just bud and oil but it's challenging to get the potency I need for some reason, but I'll continue to expirement before I get some high proof ethanol.

It's much darker than my previous try (this is my second caps try), the last one was very clear, I think this one is much more potent, i'll try now and post report later.
Used n. 1 caps (500mg) because i cant find 00 (1g) here where I live.

Used ratios: 20g weed and 1 tbsp of coconut oil


Edit: Not That strong after all... maybe because used commercial brick weed, not sure

several reasons why it may not have worked...this is why I ordered a laser thermometer so I can accurately keep track of exact temps to make sure the oil is actually reaching the temperature it should otherwise it will result in very little activation.

what exact method did you follow? lets troubleshoot this

I sure am getting self conscious for posting in this thread so much, and the only one... But to avoid any arguments I should clarify that while decarboxylation does require heat the addition of protons. We are not at absolute zero and room temp is infact heat

How many years would that take @70F?

Not sure why you think it would take years? Water evaporates fairly quick at room temp.

But yea let's work this out... Not sure I understand why you think freezing will increase bioavailability at most your winterising your extract but that's not what it sounds like

Qwet extraction for 1min, then made a second wash, the product i mixed on coconut oil and put on the eletric oven at 150-160F to evaporate the alcohol.
Then froze for some hours and decarbed it at 220F for 60min.

I'm thinking on heat it for more time, maybe it was not properly decarbed, what do you think?

So what I meant by I never use to decarb was I never did the oven thing, but this was for ganja budder and glycerine tincture. so I would never decarb my trim/material because I´d usually make sure it was good and dry before sticking in the crock pot for two to four hours making sure to never exceed 200 degrees and my budder and tincture was always great.

Yea I know how that is. Right now I just use my blackberry torch and its soooo slow. Anyway here are my thc pills, leftover from like Christmas, I take 1 to 2 a day for anxiety and depression, also smoke periodically too.

But sounds.like you decarbed way. To long especially for shwag. Mine were from shwag as well,notice the color difference. Though I do winterize then a hexane/saline wash

Also Forgive unnecessary. Periods my phone touch is acting up

Possibly but even if you did overdue it, the degredation of thc produces Cbn and other cannabinoids will result. It will be more lazy and I feel dreamlike but you will still feel good

Oh yeah, its bricked w/ seeds and bad quality.

Since it's not as strong as I wanted it to be, i'm thinking on over-heat it to degradate all the thc, and make pills to sleep...

yeah it sounds like you either under activated or over activated. Im a little sleepy, GW pharmaceuticals decarbs their herb chopped at 220F for 2 hours, I"d rather follow their recipe for decarbing since it's been backed up through tests to show where the most decarboxylization occures with LEAST conversion to CBN, and that is at 220F for 2 hours.

Yeah I was wierd about giving it to them to fix, but I am in a legal state and I am a legal caregiver, so not a lot to be worried about. Also I was a little worried about how mine turned out,but after seeing what your caps look like I feel alot better. Just popped two, i guess I´ll see how i feel soon.

I'd say it sounds more likely that you under-activated, perhaps if you reheated the oil for 45 mins at 220 and refreezed it again possibly add some soy lecithin and you'll have yourself an interesting time I'd say.

Impossible to find Lecithin in form of "dust" (idk the right world), only small balls, here on brazil, and take too long (2months+) to import, i'll pass lecithin this time.

But yeah, i'll try to freeze again and heat for more 40min at 220 to see what happens.

I've only found lecethin granules as well. I use now brand, its still just a compacted powder, it dissolves easily. In fact just shake the container and most is dust...doesn't do much though

I used a liquid lecethin, never used the stuff berfore in my meds or edibles but we´ll see.

yeah granules can be put into a coffee grinder or powdered by hand I believe.

good luck man keep us psoted... I Just made a fat batch yesterday with 8 tspoons of oil to 12 grams of bud, in total the whole process took about 12 hours from start to finish... but I expect to get very stoned soon
