Serious Seeds AK47 Regular going hermie?! Seriously?

I bought an 11 pack of Serious Seeds AK47 about 2 months ago. Sprouted them all and in 12/12 for a couple weeks. I was surprised to see that all 11 seeds were showing female.......at first. Now out of the 11 "females" 5 are showing males parts as well. There is 1 that is showing mostly males parts with a few female parts and I was going to keep the pollen off of it, but now I don't feel comfortable anymore.

I purchase regular seeds for stability and so I can make my own seeds and crosses. But what the fuck do I want hermie genetics for? I'm very disappointed. Seeds are not cheap and when I start seeing more instability in "regular" genetics than feminized genetics, I start to get concerned.

Has anyone else experienced shit quality from Serious Seeds recently? I was very excited about getting some AK47 seeds from all the hype I was hearing. But now I've been reading and experiencing some not so good hype.

I can understand finding 1 hermie in a 10 pack, but finding half of them to be hermie is excessive. And no, I don't want to save hermie pollen because it's just going to make all my stable strains, not so stable anymore.

My guess is what you thought were females were actually males.

The odds of you getting 11 females in a pack of regular seeds is slim to none (literally). The odds of you getting 6 females is quite high however.

I read a journal of their fem version where they all basically looked the same. There is huge stability in this line. Probably just misidentification. I have done this in the reverse at times (I was sure it was male but I waited a few days and sure enough the pistil showed quite a bit more pronounced).

I've run their AK-47, Chronic, Bubblegum, and Kali Mist and I've never had a single issue with any of them.

I'm thinking you got 6 females and 5 males, and just mistook the males for females.

Sure, I can snap some pics for all you a-hole disbelievers. Not sure why I would start a thread and make up a bullshit story? I've already chopped them down of course so they are going to look pretty wilted. I'm sure it will still show the female pistol and the balls right by it clear enough so it can be identified.

Misidentification is not a possibility. I've been growing for 20+ years and live in the weed capitol of the world surrounded by a lot of folks who know what they are jiving on about so please don't make idiotic assumption/comments. Actually I made this post to see who else has had this happen to them. I suggest for you guys who don't believe to google and see how many others are having this problem.

Also, for you guys that have had good luck with the AK47, how long ago did you purchase them. I just purchased these seeds 2 months ago. I KNOW that Serious Seeds is a well repped seed company and I have also grown out many of there strains IN THE PAST with great results. I am talking about new seeds here, not old ones. So the people that have commented here about how they have never had a bad seed or whatever, how long ago did you grow your seeds out?

Photos to come.

It almost sounds like they sent you feminized seeds and they were stressed and started producing males parts.......I've always found Serious strains very stable and never a hermie.........not one in many years. Contact them and see what they say- maybe it's a bad batch. Where did you buy the seeds? Maybe it's a Gypsy knockoff or something along those lines???????

Serious Seeds AK47 Regular, 5 out of 11 seeds with female/male parts. Grown in a near perfect environment. This is the first time I've ever seen this happen out of the many many strains I've grown over the last 20 years of growing. Purchased from Herbies Seeds. They are wilted because they were chopped yesterday. I DO NOT want unstable pollen genetics floating around my grow.

I can assure you that they are not being stressed.

Maybe you need to try looking first before "never hearing" of anything.
maybe YOU shouldnt be so harsh on everyone if you came here looking for feedback....well you got it and the feedback is skepticism. so if your really right (and im not calling you wrong but im saying not if you think your really right but if you really are) and it wasnt grower error then theres your answer this is not character of the company and hasnt happened to anyone who has seen this so why hate on people who are just responding to join the conversation and give their opinion. personally i agree with them to get 11 seeds that all hermie DOES look like grower error and can you blame anyone for thinking that with all the morons that come on here bad mouthing companies when the truth is they screwed something up! again that may not be the case here but lighten up

How long did you veg them before flipping them? Where did you buy these seed? Do you have a serial number in your seed pack?

AK47 is crazy stable, mine were purchased a few years ago and my friend's were bought in the last 18 months.

No, I emailed him a few days ago and I'm not posting this to spread a bad rep for Simon because that's not what I'm after. I posted this to find out if ANYONE ELSE has experienced the same thing with this specific strain and breed AND recent seed purchase. I for sure didn't expect all the negative comments within the first day of posting. I realize there are a lot of kiddies here just trying to get their "drama fix." LOL

I don't even know why I'm responding to you, but I just want to point out that I NEVER SAID THAT ALL 11 SEEDS TURNED. I still have 6 of the plants/seeds that are showing pure female and I'm hoping that it will stay that way. If just 1 plant is a keeper, that's all I'm looking for. I just thought it was really crazy that half of the seeds turned. And I didn't open the post with any negativity towards fellow growers, that came from other posters that didn't even have anything beneficial to say. But like I said already, I'm not here to get into your drama fix, so just deal with it.

Again, I never said that all 11 seeds turned. Please read the first post before you go bashing.

I've been hearing that AK47 is known to be extremely stable, I wish I had an answer for it. Like I said in my previous post(the one with the photos) they were purchased from Herbies Head Shop. I still have the original breeder packaging so maybe that has a UPC on it or something? From all the familiar complaints regarding the AK47 it sounds like the problem is within the last year or so. It would be nice to get to the bottom of this because I was really hoping for a bomb AK47. I would hate to see such an incredible strain go under.

What's crazy is I have a recent Feminized Sour Diesel seed that is supposed to be somewhat unstable, but I have yet to see any bananas to appear and I've been running the strain for over a year now. In fact, I haven't gotten even 1 banana to appear in any of my feminized strains. I guess this says a lot for how little stress I give my plants. I'm very pleased with the feminized seeds I've purchased so far. They seem to be even more stable than the regular strains I've purchased. LOL
