Serious Seeds AK47 Regular going hermie?! Seriously?

No, I emailed him a few days ago and I'm not posting this to spread a bad rep for Simon because that's not what I'm after. I posted this to find out if ANYONE ELSE has experienced the same thing with this specific strain and breed AND recent seed purchase. I for sure didn't expect all the negative comments within the first day of posting. I realize there are a lot of kiddies here just trying to get their "drama fix." LOL
I was trying to be helpful actually. It does appear that what you have said happened, happened. Although I'm less than convinced it wasn't grower error as really small things can easily result in a big problem. Buy a new extension cord recently? It got a clear plug end? It probably has a light in it. I made this mistake once too.

I wasn't referring to you guy, no worries mate. It's darker than the edge of the universe in the room. Thanks for the suggestion though. There are no grower errors here. 11 seeds were started, 6 are showing only pure female and 5 are showing stacks of balls and pubes and white hairs. The plants are all very healthy and are enjoying their pampered lifestyle. All good in the hood over here.

breeder errors happen too:weed:
I'm sure this is the case with these seeds. The breeder pack says "regular" on it so I wasn't sent the wrong pack. It was factory sealed as well. I do my own breeding and I know it's not that easy to prevent all pollen from spreading to unwanted areas. I don't know how breeders do it actually, that is, keeping strains pure and stable over an extended period of time and then being able to say for sure that their seeds are what they say they are and not something else. Who knows, maybe Simon left his window open right before they got a big storm and some pollen blew in from the ditch across the street.

I'm not really so much looking for the reason why there are mutants as to just finding out if other growers are having the same mutant problem with a RECENT AK47 purchase.

Maybe I should start the thread over so its clearer to everyone and title it, "Has anyone else that has purchased Serious Seeds Regular AK47 seeds RECENTLY(within the last year) been finding out that the seeds they thought were male OR female were in fact both?"

i like to see pictures of that. if you go to their ss forums i`m sure simon would like to see them too, i bet he would send you new ones.
Did you see the photos yet? I don't think I would want more seeds at this point. Maybe if he had some left over from an older batch I would go for it. A nice cutting from the original would be even better if there was a way. I just want to know if other people have had this happen to them with recent a recent seed purchase.

Had another thought of what it COULD possibly be, but I'm not at all convinced and I'm sure others would agree. The Soma Lavender I got flowering under a 1000w Hortilux has not once shown bananas, but I tried blooming it under a CMH last time and it actually showed 1 banana and pollenated the one branch. It's not as extreme case as they AK47's are, but anyone else think that maybe the CMH is putting an extreme amount of stress on cannabis plants? Every plant I've flowered under a CMH has absolutely loved the light so it doesn't seem like they would be stressing, but maybe the spectrum of the CMH causes stress? Anyone else convinced that this could be possible?

Sure, I can snap some pics for all you a-hole disbelievers. Not sure why I would start a thread and make up a bullshit story? I've already chopped them down of course so they are going to look pretty wilted. I'm sure it will still show the female pistol and the balls right by it clear enough so it can be identified.

Misidentification is not a possibility. I've been growing for 20+ years and live in the weed capitol of the world surrounded by a lot of folks who know what they are jiving on about so please don't make idiotic assumption/comments. Actually I made this post to see who else has had this happen to them. I suggest for you guys who don't believe to google and see how many others are having this problem.

Also, for you guys that have had good luck with the AK47, how long ago did you purchase them. I just purchased these seeds 2 months ago. I KNOW that Serious Seeds is a well repped seed company and I have also grown out many of there strains IN THE PAST with great results. I am talking about new seeds here, not old ones. So the people that have commented here about how they have never had a bad seed or whatever, how long ago did you grow your seeds out?

Photos to come.

Gotta question for you or anyone else that is familiar with AK47. All of the AK47 seeds I grew out are really tall. They are stretching 4 feet at this point with a huge distance between the internodes. Is this a common AK47 trait or is AK47 NOT supposed to be tall and stretchy?

Only responding to your dickhead comments jerk. Damn, what makes morons like you think it's ok just to waltz into a thread and be a straight up dick? If you don't have anything useful to say, why not just keep the dumb shit comments to your dumb shit self? Comprende?

Last year I got 4 foot tall but I vegged for 2 months. This time I didn't veg that long and I topped and LST'ed a bit.

I'm starting to wish that I purchased the feminized AK47 instead of the regular. Maybe next time eh? LOL
It is a pretty stretchy plant. And ya next time spend the extra dough and get the fems. The first four I grew I abused the shit out of them and they still didn't hermie.

I've read other growers say it's super stretchy unless u get an Indica dom pheno. All 11 of mine are tall. There are 2 medium height ones out of the batch. Next time I will get the fem, because I think breeders focus their energy on them. I'm convinced that fem seeds are what they sell most of, so the regulars are probably taking a hit. I got a real nice Plush Berry out of the 10 I started. Should be a keeper. Keeping my fingers crossed on these last 5 reg AK47.

I will post photos of the finished flowers of these 5 and yall can tell me if it looks like a tru AK47. Never have grown shitty buds before, even seeds from a bag of low grade. Always turns out nice under the 1000w. Got another 1.5 months and they should be finished.

I did a google image for AK47 veg and they look exactly like the plants I got going. I was just surprised to see how stretchy they got, but I'm sure that's mainly from the light source I was experimenting with in my journal. Typically I start and finish with 1000w, but this time I started with a 400w so that contributed to the veg stretch for sure.

@Lemon Sour - I've got a post on the serious seeds forum on a uk site (just after 4:19) and there do seem to be a few issues with both the ak and wr strains from a batch or two of the seeds. You will find alot of people who have grown them and swear by them, myself included regarding their kali mist, but i bet the majority are using older seed stock or cuttings like i was for years. If you contact them though i'm sure they will make it right. My 02 cents.
