My hope would be us. I would hope that once government becomes to oppressive, we would revolt.
At what point does the government become too oppressive? Why wait until that point? Because THEN, it will be too late for peaceful change. Wouldn't it be better to stand up to it, early on, when it is easier to change?

What are these freedoms you speak of that restricted you from enjoying this beautiful land?
Huh?

That is a good question. I imagine when government becomes big enough to where you can't even function in your daily life. Or when government actually kills its citizens in the US without do process.
Wake up and smell the coffee. We are there.

I like how you avoided the question when I asked, when or where has their be a civilization where there wasn't government or hierarchy? What is your alternative?
I didn't avoid it. I ignored it. Big difference.

And how are these agencies and firms paid for? How are these firms and agencies not just as susceptible to corruption and collusion? Who oversees them and make sure they are doing their job right?

With currency, from consumers of their service, they are less suspetible from corruption and collusion because they wouldn't have a monopoly, thus they wouldn't be easily bought off and further would have a genuine interest in quality of said service, they would have to compete in a true free market which of course doesn't have a government.

I had always simply agreed with conservatives when they claimed that increasing or implementing a minimum wage would naturally decrease the work force - it seemed to obey my conception of supply and demand but I happened to watch Maddow's show last night where she found a number of studies that said that this is not so, that increasing the minimum wage does not lead to unemployment.

But it must have some negative effect, All ledgers have two entries. What then IS the negative effect of raising minimum wage?
No more obscene "My Super Sweet 16" million dollar parties for the overpaid CEOs' spoiled overdrugged, overexposed kids?
