looking good doc. i think by looking at those pics they could go another 2 weeks. the hairs are still white. when cd4 is finished they turn reddish brown. hows your trichs. im guessing mostly cloudy no amber. your fans will all yellow and come off easily. wont spend much time trimming.

Plants smell fantastic!


Plants 2 and 4 are the closest in structure. Both are fairly short and look like they will yield a decent amount. Plant 3 looks very much like them but is a good foot taller at least. The bud structure looks the same as 2 and 4.
Plant 1 has buds with a dome shape to them while all other plants have pine cone shaped buds.


I've been leaning towards P2 and p4 as the possible keepers but P3 has really come on and looks to have a lot of potential. Right now my plan is to pick between p2 and p4 as a keeper and keep p3 as well. I will then do another run with the 2 keepers and choose between them for a final pick.


P1 looks to have finished earlier then the others, ( Aprox 70% red/brown pistils, 60-40 cloudy/clear trichs) has denser buds then the others, but it also developed a few late flower nanners. Not enough to really worry about but all the others don't have a single nanner on them and the smell and yield is much better on them as well. So, thats why P1 is not in the running for a "keeper". I chopped it down at 63 days and have sampled it just a few minutes ago. Very Nice!
The others have a way to go yet. Its hard to say but probably 7 to 10 days more.

yeah...p2,p3 and p4 will all go 70-75 days for sure...maybe more. I don't really go for the amber in my smoke but a little doesn't hurt.
 
Looking good, Doc. I like the auto fire extinguisher... very nice.

What do you think so far? Is a fresh over-sized carbon filter enough to control the stank or is it a smell that is impossible to 100% contain?
I've always selected for low growing odor, but chem effect is just spectacular.

I have the over sized filter that you speak of, and it does work. I cant smell it anywhere but the flower room. Early samples confirm what you said...
..."the effect is spectacular".
 
Looking good as always brother. Ive got 2 chemdawg X g13 crosses finishing up. One leans towards chemdawg and the other leans towards the G13. Funny enough the chemdawg phenotype is finishing earlier then the G13 phenotype, I think the g13 leaner could go at least 1 week longer maybe two. I might actually post a couple of pics to show you how the fan leaves turned purple....
Now that youve had a "sample" of chemdawg do you understand why i call it gods gift to weed ?? lol.

yes i do...and im thinking the chem samples i smoked in the past were not real chem or just not grown out very well. this shit rocks.


i have some purple leaves as well.....

Hell yeah reall chem should be some fire it gets really high thc content if you look on YouTube I think a chem cross had the highest percent this year in the canaries cup.
is that first one completly dry yet? I'm thinking of ordering some chem for my next grow. Was the yield sacrificed for the high quality?

Yield seems to be low for me but in all honesty i had so many personal issues going on during this grow that I didn't take my usual care of them. I try to keep them green all the way through and thats how I increase my yield. Not this time....when the issues popped up I just didn't have the time to get on it right away and they suffered.I am absolutely sure i can increase my yield by a wide margin but until then I have some very killer smoke.
But...even if i do take care of them better and increase my yield, these are not huge yielders compared to some others...but as you said the quality is higher.
 
i thought chemdawg was a bit on the low side for yield until i threw some on the scale. if you were selling it people would think they were getting ripped a little. this weed is very heavy. it will tell you if your grinder is getting dull. for personal smoke i cant think of any better strain. it is a treat. just me and my friends opinions.

yeah...after looking around and asking Doc i found Chem to yield better then i thought. I just didnt get them dialed in so my yield wasnt what i know i can do with these. I will be running more seeds and clones and will post my results.
looks like a few more days before they come down.
 
got to thinking. when i ran cd4 it was 8 plants under 2 600 hps. i wonder if 2 1000 hps might make some difference. im switching my sixes to thousands and putting a six hundred mh vertical in the center. ill bet cd4 is a light whore. i still have a good supply left but ill get another full pack and run it before i run out.
 
great idea with the MH.....i did the same but not that high of a wattage. Im looking for a link to a journal ive seen with 1-1000 mh and 1-1000 HPS and it was unbelievable. Cant find the link right now but i will keep looking.
what did you pull off those 8 plants?


Today is chop day for 2 of the Chems!!!!!
 
I started the harvest on plants 2 and 4 on day 74. they have been drying for 2 days now. plant 3 needs more time...probably another week.
I almost always do a 2 (or more) part harvest on each plant....pictures will show how much i have taken down.......
