thinking about getting one of these kit cars. its called the DDR Miami GT8. costs $18,000 for the body and tube chassis. you need a engine, trans, and all steering and suspension parts. looks like it would be a fun project. what do you guys think??

Do it up man, that looks sweet and if you have the cash you can really make that thing scream. :) what kind of engine do you think you will put in it?

what car components do they use as a base? NVm just looked it up, hhmmm small block chevy they say. 427 small block built is going to be pretty gnarly but your looking around 18000 for that, if your needing to be emissions legal youll need an ls prefer a 3 or a 7.... wish the zr-1 motor was available.

that gt8 is setup to use a LS engine, specifically the ls1 but it would be very easy to have it set up for pretty much any other engine. their shop car and the car you can see and listen too in their videos uses the turbo engine i believe the ford 3.0 turbo. same engine used in the Rossion q1 made down the road from thing. so its set up to bolt in a porshce tansaxle and a chevy small block with an adapter plate between the 2. also was looking at the ultima gtr's but they dont look as cool to me and are based around the same idea and use the same engine and transaxle.

hey guys, look closely at that picture for me please. I can't see it clearly. I went online to look into it because he updated the post and the bike is an x15 not an x18. One said that they were automatic, and then later I found one saying they were the standard one down three up manual. I might just be seeing the kickstand but does it look like that actually has the shift lever in front of the foot rest? Makes a major difference because I can't seem to find a manual conversion kit for the bike so if it's an auto I'm stuck and won't buy it. Holding off on just asking the guy because I don't have the money yet and don't want to get him all excited that I'm interested when I can't actually pay him. On the other note I told dad that he is not by any meanings helping me with a full size. I won't allow it lol, I'll get one when I can buy it on my own because I feel bad taking money like that even from him.

For the project I'll be doing-

a new carb upping it from the standard 19mm to a 24mm
new intake manifold (has to be done to accommodate the new carb)
possibly a big bore kit if I'm feeling up to it lol
new exhaust
new cdi
new brakes
and maybe more but after all that there's not much to do but an engine swap lol, and that will MORE than surpass my 80mph goal so I may not even do all of that. The new cdi is probably going to be my first upgrade because it's one of the cheapest and it doesn't link to the others. Like the carb links to the new intake manifold and that new power will probably force me to get the new exhaust to remove all the new air that is going in, and that new power will require me to get the new brakes lol.

edit: so I called the guy about if it's a manual or auto. It is indeed a manual! But wait theres more! It's a SIX SPEED! But hold up, keep it in your pants I'm not done yet. It's a race bike and does 70 as is, stock. Which means I won't have to do hardly any work, if any at all! My tax returns can not come here fast enough! Now I'm worried if it sells!

rule number 1: dont look for stuff to buy till you actually have money in hand, very good chance what you are looking at will sell before you actually have the money.
and enough with the toys, this thread is for real stuff ;)

my brothers sti was the meanest, fastest car I have ever had the pleasure to ride in and even drive! Although his wasn't exactly stock but that just makes it more fun :) I think they're awesome but not sure if I would own one, I would rather spend the money on a diff car. The rally cars are awesome but they just don't turn me on a certain way ya know?

also I heard ken block is a real asshole. A great driver sure, but my brother was at one of the competitions and all the other drivers were talking and being awesome to the fans and block just seemed to have this air of I'm better than all of you now leave me alone. He didn't want to sign things and when he talked to people he was pretty rude. Still a good driver though, that I have to admit

I think my fave cars have to be Lambos. Check out the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento people, based off a B2 Stealth Bomber, it's insane. However, I love American cars, my Dad has a 1950's Chevy Pickup Truck and a rat rod. The rat rod is fucking rapid too.

lol I love driving that lambo in forza, it's not real fast and the handling isn't great but damn does it look good! Straight up bat-mobile meets stealth bomber. :)

i just saw this on my fb page the other day.. the og story was coming from top gear, but i just found a pix via google images..
it's a buggati beetle concept car i do believe, being that bugatti is owned by vw now, i thought it was pretty cool..

i can't stand the veyron's as i mostly find that front end to be hideous, but i love me a good old fashioned bug, and find the combination of the two to be rather pleasing on the eyes..

Love that one. I recently bought a 78 beetle as a project car... my wife likes beetles.

Ive talked to ken block a few times while he was with colin mckay and sluggo at slam city jam, this is waaaay before the whole rally thing(like 2002) when he was just the guy at dc. not a guy id be buddies with but he did give a shitload of shoes away to the poor kids in east van.
