i like the d's as well c/n of course, but i've always had a soft spot for the e's personally..

and fuck yeah dro, you know i love my ferrari's, especially the 250s.. i will however admit that ferrari did put up some pretty fugly cars as well as some simply beautiful.
Around 1980 I saw a Ferrari 400iA in the flesh. I wept. The 308GT4 (which suffers the added insult of the Dino badge) was lpretty bad too, but it's beginning to grow on me.

The 400i puts me in mind of the love child between a 5-series Bim and that slantfaced Celica. cn

yes that is ALSO a uglymobile lol
the sad thing is my old man had that exact car, and is what i drove on my very first date with my now ex gf, lol..
for w/e reason the old man loved station wagons.. i have a whole slew of childhood memories spent in the very back of a station wagon, sometimes sitting in the very back fold up seats that folded out of the trunk and faced rearwards..
imagine that sort of thing today, omg, someone call child protective services, lol...

oh well.. i'm off to bed.. gotta go top the girls and give them a drink.. have a good one.. :D

well I was talking to my dad last night about getting the pocket bike and doing work on it and how I was considering selling my car to get a full sized 250 or 600. He ended up saying that when I get my tax returns he'll help me out with getting a bike and said that I shouldn't sell my car for one because it's too inconvenient. We were talking about the pocket bikes at the time so I was like, cool a couple extra bucks towards a nice pocket will be great. But I don't have to sell my car for a pocket bike(which he knows, that's actually one of the reasons I gave him for going with a pocket rather than a full), which leads me to think he was saying he wants to help me get a full sized bike.

As happy as I am about that I'm up in the air. A full size would be awesome and I'll take that any day. On the other hand that means he's offering to give around a 1000, rather than a couple bucks and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I've also kind of grown attached to the pocket bike idea, I love a project and there are a few people around here who have and work on them so we could get together and ride them if I have one. The same for that last statement can be said about full sized bikes too though. If he does offer to help me get a full sized, I'm looking at bikes around a thousand dollars to 1500 TOPS, because I also need more gear for that. I see a nice, used and slightly scratched but still in good condition zx6 on craigslist for 1000 (listed as 800) obo, and if he is talking about helping me with a real bike, I might ask him to front me and I'll pay him back because that bike should sell fast.

Assuming he meant a full size (if he meant the pocket, I'm still happy as a pig in shit if he wants to help), then the next question would be to get a 250 or a 600. The 250 probably wouldn't be good for me in all honesty. I know I like to go fast, which is not saying I will be killing myself on the 600, what I mean is on the freeway when I do a lot of traveling over the summer I tend to do around 70-80, and will pass people faster than that. The 250 really doesn't like going faster than 75, it can but you're working it hard. On the off hand the 600 has a much larger learning curve. I've ridden bikes before, 110 and 125 cc so I have the basics and know the gist. But the 600 is larger and more powerful, it's heavier and harder to learn how to maneuver, and it is a lot less forgiving when it comes to making mistakes. My brother knows that well. He crashed his old 600 and ended up in the hospital, it was nothing major because he had full gear on, I think he scraped one of his legs but the only thing I remember for sure is he hurt is wrist, but still it's just another 1/9999999999 stories you hear about the bikes. I'm by no means afraid of it though, well maybe a little, but it's more a respect than a fear and I think that's good because it will keep me in my place and I won't be doing anything stupid on it. I'm a little worried about asking if that's what he meant though because I don't want to be like "did you mean helping me with a full sized bike?" when he meant a pocket and end up sounding like some kind of hand out wanting jack ass. Here's a pic of the zx6 for 800 that I'm looking at. You can see the scratches but like I said, it's in great condition

lol thanks for reading that, I'll be updating as things get closer. Kind of fun being able to talk about but I feel like I should start a blog rather than go off on tangents on here

thats a bad ass bike for cheap. You'll get hurt.No doubt.Everyone that gets one for their first road bike does.Just like I did.lol.Twist off the zx and you'll see the 100,000 factors that will take you out.
I'd find a lesser bike like a older suzuki gs or whatever. No matter what you ride the freeway ain't no place for a rookie rider.250cc bikes don't count.Pocket bikes or mopeds don't count.Stay safe and take it easy out there

Yeah, I know I'll end up on the ground at least once like everyone else. I decided to ask him straight forward and he did mean the pocket bike but he said we'll talk about it when spring is a little closer, which in code is, sure I'll help with a full size but lets just wait until it's decent riding weather. In the mean time I'm saving up so he helps me as little as possible if at all. I'll keep my eyes out for a gs500 or something like that, thanks for the advice :)

I've had the gs 550/650 and various other bikes including fz,fzr,zx and a cbr. They are much better to gain experience on.Sometimes you go down and there isn't always a second chance.Tires and a good drive chain are important for a safe ride.If / when you find yourself wrenching on your bike, empty your pockets of tools before you head out as a test drive.Pocket full of tools can equal internal injuries right quick.Wear gloves and boots no sneakers. Not trying to lecture, just telling you the things I learned along the way.And trying to save you your spleen and about 150,000 in bills,2 thing I no longer have.

thinking about getting one of these kit cars. its called the DDR Miami GT8. costs $18,000 for the body and tube chassis. you need a engine, trans, and all steering and suspension parts. looks like it would be a fun project. what do you guys think??
