do you use a cloning gel? right now i have clonex solution but im going to be trying out a gel next time. the cloning is giving me a run for my money but ill stay at it and hopefully have it dialed in soon. one sad thing is that the people who's house i am growing at might be moving so i may need to move the whole operation not sure if its going to be a move for the better or the worse. i went and looked at the house they are thinking about buying and they said i could prob use one of the bedrooms upstairs but this means ill have to toatally re design my grow. one step at a time though..

1st of all maine love ur avatar! 2nd i used olivia's on 10 bdh cuts and none of them rooted..maybe i used to much?!?! leaves just started to rot then they all went. i felt like i would of had better results with clonex idk tohu

so im thinking about flowering the girls out. definatly not where i want to be in veg but going on 8 weeks veg time right now. I am having CO2 issues and i think thats the culprit to my stunted growth. DOnt get me wrong shit is growing decent but i know it could be much better. instead of waiting 2 more weeks im thinking of flowering now and then i can empty my tent and get it downstairs ready for some CO2.

u guys seen the pics,, after stretch i should have a pretty full room. not full potential but should be alright.

Upstairs bedroom temps are higher way higher in the summer than any basement, you’re going to probably need AC, oh well, it is what it is.

Plants are looking great, you’re probably right, after the stretch the room is going to be full.

I have used this shit with good success, I know it’s not fancy smancy but it works if you water the soil the right way, which plays a big part in the success rate to any kind of cloning. I water the cuttings with an eye dropper (5 to 10 drops) at the root area; do that for a period of 2 to 3 days too a week as needed. I only water the clone at the first sign of wilt, not bone dry soil wilt, but on the dryer side of things wilt.(Hard to explane but I think you guys know what I mean) After a week or more I water the clone from the outside edge of its container (beer cup) making sure the clone receives some moisture at the stem. This dryness makes the clone’s roots go looking for water; just one man’s way, works for me (90% rate) with many different types of plants.

yea? right into dirt too u say? i had had the blue dream in rockwool that was on top of some water and an airstone. i think that was the issue, unlike traditional bubble cloners that just splash on the cut area, my bd was sitting in water.

OK so did some LST on the bagseed plant....just kinda fucking around as i have been looking at some "ultimate LST" pics anf want to give some multiple tie downs a shot. usually i only do 1.

Got the DWC all set, did 1/2 strength nutes based on the "seedling" feeding schedule. so it was 1 tsp(5ml) for a little under 5 gal of water. got it bubbling away PH was pretty much right on with the drop test. my BBG seed had a 1/4 inch taproot so i placed it into the rockwoool cube, hopefully she takes and by next weekend (or sooner) it has a root system ready to go into the DWC bucket. going to monitor the PH and see if it fluxuates but seems this tap is pretty right on with PH usually between 6-7. the bottle says 1/2 tsp per gal (2 tsp for 4 gal) will raise my PPM to around 250 given the water is 0 ppm, im guessing since its well water its between 2-300 ppm so 1/2 strength should bring it up to around 325-425 PPM should be about right for a seedling right?

no roots on the clones yet, gave them a little haircut today to help get some root development. one clone is almost done, a bit rotted. gonna give it a day or 2 and see what happens but doubt it will make it. gonna pick up some rapid rooter plugs and some gel and see if they work any better.

bagseed in flower is about done, its not mine so i doubt there will be any harvest pics. got one more plant of that strain then it will be gone...its a shitty yeilder and weak for potency anyways. does have a nice fruity smell to it almost like rasberries...lol

a few of them dont seem to be taking well to the LST but im just going to give them time, a few others seems to be doing great. the revegged FCJ clones have a insane amount of tops on them.

I will be giving them at least one more week in veg...possibly 2. I want to get this new BBG into the hydro setup and growing before i flip. it might take a couple weeks in the veg tent to get up to speed.

alright time to get up and moving, need to visit the hydro store today for them rapid rooters and some cloning gel, also going to look for a cheap PH pen. i may just invest in one of them and say fuck it on the PPM meter for now. still waiting on my taxes so ><

the nice thing about the nutes im using is it tells you how many PPM it adds with the dosage so if i change water once a week i should have a pretty good idea of what the PPM are. will see though would be nice to have a decent little combo meter. i dont think im going to have a issue with the water getting too hot as the basement floor tends to keep the water colder than i like. i generally like room temp water to feed to my plants.

This stuff works great for $2 dollars, it keeps in the container forever, easy to use, no pumps or rockwool to buy, and the clone will root in 2 weeks, for the price of a cup of coffee, what do you have to lose. Make sure it’s Number 1 for soft woods, #2 and #3 will not work, they are for hard woods, I have already made this mistake.

In my original post my eye dropper is actually a turkey baster. MY OPINION the success of cloning is the amount of water given to the plant’s root system; think about this, if the clone has all the water it needs then why would it bother growing roots in a hurry, plants are lazy too. All cloning systems will work but some are better than others, less water at root area will force the plant to grow roots and look for moisture to survive, does this make sense.

I grew one parsnip in each six inch ABS pipe a few years ago, drilled holes in the side of the pipe about an inch apart up and down the side of the pipe. I then inject water in the side holes lower than the root to force the parsnip to grow down. You can grow really long and big parsnips this way. In my outdoor vegetable garden, if I water too often the roost stay close to the top of the surface, then when I’m away at work (a week at a time) the plants can suffer, I found it’s better not to water unless I really need to or wait till after the roots are well establish. When I first started growing weed outdoors a while back, I watered the ground 3 times a week, the roots grew up to the surface (poking out of the dirt) instead of growing down deep looking for moisture.

Keep the cutting dryer and they will look for water a lot sooner.

18 days from cutting, transplanted yesterday just watering the bottom of the tray and letting the rapid rooter wick it up. It was a larger clone and i used root powder on her

Just looked at your clones and i think you could cut alot more of those leaves off. You dont have to cut off the whole leaf but those big leaves could be cut back so that theres not much left. Just cut the leaf so theres like a quarter left. It will grow out like a hair cut and the clone will focus more on rooting that growing. These have grown out a bit but heres a pic. Also, heres the shit i make sure i do when cloning.

-Make sure the clone is three inches at least.
-mist the leaves 2-3 times a day on leaves.
-allow air into the dome for 15 - 30 min a day.
-i dont drench the dome, i just mist it.
-i use rapid rooter plugs, no need to ph, i find rock wool always fucks with my clones, i hate those things. Why take the time phing when you could just plug and go.
-i trim the clone so theres two small leaves on top and slice the larger leaves down to 1/4s, around 4 leaves left in all.
-i dip my cubes in quarter strength nutes to start
-i leave a small amount of water in the tray and check the cubes before i mist. If theyre to wet no beuno, to dry spritz em.
-This is the most important one - temps, 78 works great, constant temps are a must. If they are on a cold floor like cement you will have problems every time. If thats the only option spend the twenty bucks on a heat mat.

I thought the gel would be enough, hard for me to do 1/4 str nutes in a small cup but ill keep this in mind, figure they dont really need any nutes aside from the clonex. I believe the clonex is a .1-.1.-.1 nutrient solution with added hormones to promote rooting.
-i leave a small amount of water in the tray and check the cubes before i mist. If theyre to wet no beuno, to dry spritz em. i think keeping constant water in my tray was hindering growth as they didnt have to "search" for it.

I have a seedling heating mat they sit on 24/7 and a 23w CFL above them on 24/7

I really dont understand why im not having good results with my clones. they are in the basement so it is a bit cool down there. once i get my 600w ballast and hood back up and running my cloning station is going to be moved to the top of the hood where it should be pretty warm.

just hit the hydro store and bought a PPM meter and some rapid rooter plugs/tray. also bought some cloning gel.

my PPM in my DEC bucket is about 250 with 1/2 strenth nutes so my tap water PPM must not be that high, im thinking 125 from water and 125 from nutes. the seedling is in rockwool and it is already in the bucket. it has a tap root as of last night so i placed it into a rockwool cube (i germinated it in soil LOL knowing i was going to take it out) today when i checked on it it had lifted its head up a little so i figured it wont hurt to get it into the DWC system and let it keep on doing what its doing.

the levels in the DWC are pretty high right now but once i start seeing roots coming out of the hydroton ill lower the level of water in the bucket. where i cant be there and check on them 3-4 times a day i feel its better to allow it constant acces to water. ill slowly remove water as the roots develop so they are forced to grow and search for it.

anyways, hope this cloning thing starts turning around for the better as it is begining to become extremely expensive buying new supplies to try all these different methods, at this point i have over 200$ invested in just cloning gear. that would be alot of beans and different strains. I have great sucess with germinating from seed and begining to think that if this cloning shit dosent pan out ill be better off grabbing some packs of fem beans and planting new seeds. only problem with that is im kinda on the hunt for the best 3 strains. i think the fruity chronic juice is going to be one but its not a heavy yeilder.
