Update: I'm pretty sure the cuttings I took on New Years are rooting, 3 haven't drooped at all in 2 days. 3 of them have, but are still alive and respond when misted, so I'm continuing. I took two new, larger *ahem* longer cuttings today and mixed my own version of cloning gel, surprisingly, 1 didn't droop at all, the other one did. I'm starting to realize that I have had more luck with cloning by topping than I have by taking a cutting from a branch closer to the base of the plant. I discovered a ginormous spider mite infestation on Pinky today.
I cleaned my entire tent with Chlorox wipes and allowed it to dry completely before putting anything back in. I took all my plants outside and sprayed them with Cone and Jet functions on my hose sprayer from upside down so as to wash the mites completely off. I then took them inside and placed them in direct sun to dry (it was about 52 when I did this.) I made a rosemary and garlic tea and put it in an old neem oil spray bottle and sprayed the shit out of all my plants on top and bottom of the leaves. I have seen this advice on several different organic websites and University studies. It was also on the mycology forums. I got the soil a little wet and it was time for a watering today so I just gave them each .25 liters of food and put the other .5 liters to brew with an airstone until either tomorrow evening (technically tonight now) or else the day after. Pinky is about the same on recovering from P deficiency, continuing the same dose for the time being. Bagseed is getting much better and is starting to get her smell again but she was still infested with mites as well. Oh btw, I had the worst, the INFAMOUS brown and white speckled ones. >_< -_- So keep your fingers crossed. I know people would love to have my humidity, but its bothersome when its breeding grounds for pests. I have got to fix that. Its not horrible for veg right now, and its prime for flower, but I need to get it to 50-70% so I can grow a true representation of a sativa.
I'm really looking forward to ordering Mosca Negra's C-99 bx1. I've seen rave review after review and AMAZING nug and smoke reports. I'm talking these plants were
beautiful. One pheno yielded 7 ozs. I believe it was only 1 month veg. There was 1200 watts total and 4 plants. Yield was 19.6 oz or .457 gpw. Avg yield was 4.9 per plant. All of them flowered right at the 52-53 day mark. Except one, the most sativa pheno, which could have gone 60-62 days imo. It still had white pistils, but there were some amber trichs, and C-99 is racy as is, so I don't know about taking it all the way to amber, but once I find the pheno keeper, I will do 3 diff chops. Clear, Milky, Amber harvest and we'll see.
I've been seeing more and more hard times with DP and DJ short BB. Even the true BB. I know thai is prone to hermies, but I don't feel comfortable having to buy 4-5 packs to find the one BB that has the classic taste and smell and turns blue regardless of temps. I saw a journal one time on here though where someone named Snafu got their seeds from marijuana seeds .nl. He only popped 5 and had 4 females and 3 that turned blue, but only one of them all the way, and 2 of them that had the BB smell and flavor. If I can't get BB then I think I'm either going with DP Jorge's Diamond, Cannabiogen Sandstorm, WoS Delirium, Greenhouse Indica Mix H or
maybe E. But I kinda want to do WW from the original source and grow it along side WoS Brazilian Indica. Make a pure Brazilian Hybrid. Sorry tangent, super baked. Scraped my bowl for resin and threw all my keif on there from my grinder. Been out for a couple days trying to save back for the light. I'm about 85% there. I also am looking into Sagarmartha Blue Thunder, Blue Bud, and Mongolian Indica. Also one last one, WoS Ketama from Northern Morocco. I'm
ALL about some exotic cannabis. My goal is grow
at least one strain from every country. I also love buds and plants that color. I need an Indica that I can function on, or knock myself out, but at my discretion. I love the berry and fruit flavors, but I also like the hash and musk flavors. Lemon Skunk would be great, too. I'm a big fan of the lingering on the palate. If anyone has any experience with any of these strains, please let me know. I'm not really big on Fem seeds, so its unlikely that I'll go for Greenhouse unless its the Lemon Skunk. Although Himalayan Gold sounds wonderful. I know I didn't really mention any Afghani or Pakistani strains, minus the last two, but I don't want to conform!!! There seems to be a lot of Mazar I Sharif crosses going around, but I think I'll wait to see what all the buzz is about (pun intended.)
That's kinda what Bagseed is though. I'm trying to have a little variation in there.
