a friend of mine who passed rip was a dog handler in the army (me a 12b) and his dog freaked out before he would of stepped on some hme so I call that a win for the dog can a cat sniff out bombs?
Cats can probably sniff out bombs, cancer, whatever.... They just don't give a shit. You telling me when you go to the pound/shelter to get a dog you're all like, "give me the one that can sniff out bombs and cancer"

Yeah they train dogs to do things like that but I don't know anyone who owns one that does.

You don't have to train a dog to fight by your side.;-)

Theres no difference between male and female cats. I dont perceive any cats as being masculine theyre all just little pussies to me.

why do you need an animal to protect you? :?

little men need big dogs. ;)

I'm not little and I have Pit Bull and an Irish Wolfhound, The tallest breed of dog and only dog breed to take out wolves by themselves!

Mine aren't really to protect me though. I never wanted a pit bull but took it in so it wouldn't go to the pound, the Irish Wolfhound is a huge loving lap dog and is more of a visual deterrent than anything.

at 7 months old the wolfhound is almost twice the size of my 70lb blue nose pit.

*Fight with you.* and much much more! You can train him to get you a beer of you wanted lol.
Yes I am well aware of what dogs are capable of. I'm trying to figure out why something a hand full of trained dogs can do is somehow a selling point for owning one, I didn't get my dog because he could sniff out bombs. I bet no one here did either.

Wouldn't say a handful, and not all are necessarily professional trained, it's just in their blood. It doesn't have to be a selling point, like some of the others, you're taking it too literal, I'm just pointing out how dogs are better than cats.

because just about any dog can be taught anything if you spend enough time with them. I'm no dog trainer! My pit bull was about to go to the pound for attacking other pits. Now it plays tug of war with a 10lb dog and lets it play not just instantly overpowering the little one. You can teach dogs a lot!

My pit is a rescue! I got her at 2 years old, she was very skinny and had been abused terribly!

FUCK CATS! I have a cat trap to catch the feral's running around! Took one to the pound last week! What the fuck makes people think they can let their cats run loose all over the neighborhood but my dogs that are friendly cant go out with out a leash. Same laws apply for cats, keep your cat on your property or at least off of mine and it won't go to the pound with the rest of the feral cats!
