Go to realtor.com and enter Detroit. Sort by price. There are some very cool old homes. I've been to Berry Gordy's old house in the Boston Edison district. It was an amazing home but definitely showing its age.

This is a fun website to look through. I like the maps section and how you can check out the street view maps.

I bought a friend's house that was being foreclosed on in that auction a few years ago. Kept him rocking 12 lights in it. Lots of money thrown down on these. Detroit makes out like crazy. I talked to the lady when paying the fee for the house and she said a dude came in to pay for properties with $180k in cash. Straight up gangsters buying blocks of the city.

Don't worr, the crack and heroin sales will more than pay for it. Just the security alone of owning the whole block is woth that kind of loot, where you can store, cook, and deal all within walking distance.

Serious shit down there.

Fuck Yes Dtown is going through some nu twisted phase, opportunity there for sure.
being hyper-vigilantly aware of my enviro can be a bit intense. once you're in the hse yer usually good unless it's been an ongoing lg grow that the locals want a cut of. keep some odds in your favor... invest, then get out after 1-3 full seasons, then rent or sell.

So I've always wondered about finding some cheap homes in Detroit. I figured that if I had a tour guide to show me around that there must be some nice pockets in there somewhere? Cheap homes, not gonna get robbed in my yard? From what I read the whole damn city is a ghetto? I suppose the fact I've never seen the nice part is a good sign there isn't one. Are these clubs opening up "legal"? Or are they just renting spots and waiting to get busted? There is so much empty space down there it seems like a complete waste, I saw a guy on tv a few night ago who bought a 60,000 sq ft warehouse in Detroit for 10,000 just because the city would have to pay more to tear it down. I'm sure there are lots of places like that. You would think with everyone wanting to make some money that some of these ghetto ass citys would do the math. Give me a location and one year I bet I could make all kinds of places profitable. Well, unless I get shot in the parking lot...... fuckin ghettos!
A lot of these established buildings were put up befor the present population was.... well.... present. Its all fair game I would think. Honestly though we all know its not that hard for foreigners to come to Detroit and clean up. Heres a plan. Buy some of it back. Plenty of warehouses and shop buildings surrounded by empty lots and streets. Then put up a 15ft fence with guards and dogs around your workzone and you will be ok I think.

I pull up the map of Detroit, then zoom into the neighborhoods that I am familiar with. Then sort through the houses available on the streets
that I would risk living on.
Grabbing a loft downtown could be sweet.

I would kick in a few jars on buying the Boblo boat.

The D ain't that bad if you stay out of the neighborhoods. Plenty of commercial spaces that could be used to grow massive amounts of bud. Nobody will bother you if you stay low key. I'm in the city almost everyday. Never have a problem unless I stray in to places I don't belong. If youre flashy u are toast for sure. If you keep it cool nobody pays much attention to you. Maybe it's just me...

careful with spackle, it looks strikingly similar to crack cocaine when it dries.

an email list I think would be an appropriate beginning step. for those interested please look up the thread entitled "mail list" in the michigan forums:

I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out how to ensure that law enforcement don't infiltrate their way into this mail list. Any idea how to mitigate the probability? The only thing I can come up with is to have skype meetings with everyone who wants to join to show their patient card and driver's ID but that would create an issue with me seeing this personal info (driver's Id), not to mention if a cop wanted in, all they would have to do is produce fake ids.

Gotta figure out a way to verify patient's/caregiver status without compromising anyone's identity.

RDMI suggested using hushmail.com email accounts which allow password protected email transmission which sounds like a winner, thanks again RD for that suggestion. To get access to this mail list you have to create an account on hushmail.com.

Everyone from the state of michigan is encouraged to join the mailing list, at which point I will create a spreadsheet organizing caregivers and patients by region (UP, NE, NW, SE, SW) with email contact info. Should be a self regulating system I would think when fully setup, everyone can take the spread sheet and add people to it and redistribute people can write reviews about overages and send them out via mailing list, ect ect.

My suggestion. Keep the actual meeting time and location secret until just before the show. LEO would have issues securing such a "bust" with limited heads up time IMO.
