yeah it probabally would distribute the Co2 better being up higher but i find more value in the slight breeze going across the canopy to strengthen the stems.

how bout your little seedlings man how are they making out?

the KK did have a slight stress test earlier but seems to be picked back up and doing good, hopefully in about 3-4 weeks im ready to transfer that entire veg cab down to the flower room and start with a new batch of clones. need to be carefull as to not have too much going at once though since i have limited space. probabally going to transfer the biggest plants first then give the next round 2 weeks to grow, when i put the bigger ones in im hoping to be able to replace them in the veg cab with new clones. and idc what anyone says about the DIY Co2, my plants seemed to be at a standstill for growth for almost 2 weeks i wasnt seeing much and i knew it wasnt my lighting, temps or nutes so i boiled it down to the fact that they are recirculating the same air being in a closed room and have used most of the Co2 up. installed that DIY rig in within 2 days i had seen more growth than i did in 1 week. i would. since the room is pretty much sealed off i think im going to try and get a paintball Co2 cartridge and just crack one open in there once a week to re plenish the supply of ambient Co2, my passive intake should suck it right in off the floor of the bedroom and circulate it in and then back out of the tent. I know i will lose someoutthe door when i enter/exit the room but at this pointits better than nothing.

this fruity is a frosty frosty plant.extremely potent and i think its going to have a narcotic type effect once the trichomes turn amber. I know i said i dont usually go by the trichome color and i still stand by that. Every day i go to my grow i notice the fruity is still packing on weight. but i checked the color just because i have a scope and figured it wont hurt. mostly clear still. This tells me my instincts are correct and i should wait it out. most of the people i smoke with want that knock you on your ass high aka couch lock. Plus in all my growing i have done i have yet to harvest a fully matured and ripened plant due to different things happening. this is my 5th grow

first grow i got a moderate case of bud rot in early October and had to harvest 1-2 weeks early.
second grow i harvested early because im a noob
third grow (which was a branch of my second grow but got better equipment and some nice genetics) i was getting asked if a skunk died under my house by people i didnt want asking them types of questions...so i pulled it, salvaged what i could and started my 4th grow (outdoor)
fourth grow almost all my plants were ripped, what was left (1 out of 7 i believe) i tried to take inside but didnt have the means to get her under decent lighting so cut my losses and chopped it down.

now on my 5th grow im really really tryning to have some patience, as much as i would love to go chop her down and get her drying i know i will be happier if i wait it out

Looking great!!

FWIW at the local grow shop the guy there had a CO2 meter and said for small operations running a CO2 dispenser like you've got is actually worthwhile and worth the money

He said that adding sugar every 1 or 2 days will keep your CO2 levels high enough (I believe it is above 1200 ppm that you are aiming for) I think normal atmosphere is around 300-400?

Do you have any kind of fuel burning devices in your basement? These will generate a lot of CO2.. you don't want to mess around with them ... but a fan blowing from your furnace towards your grow area would generate CO2 as well for free (well the cost of the fan) and be a lot less hassle.. mind you most of the CO2 is likely vented to your furnace exhaust I would imagine those systems are not airtight

Gastanker also had a good link for calculating how much sugar you should be adding to generate the CO2 you would need.. based on the volume of the grow area.

yeah, im not really looking to get too fancy and the plants in the basement are doing fine, just the ones in the room upstairs are the ones that were slacking on growth. eventually i want to have Co2 meters and all that fancy shit for my system but for right now this seems to be doing the trick. i need to add soem more sugar to my mix. how long does the yeast last in the water? is it a permanant resident or does it get used up or die off over time?

i kills itself with alcohol.just pour out half and fill with fresh water and sugar and it will never die. some bakers leave a small amt of dough in there machine so the yeast is always active.

so if i drink my yeast water will i get drunk....? lol

and thanks for that advice.
if you filter it you will get drunk, but your system releases a lot of the alcohol into the air not to mention, you did not start and keep everything sterile and clean so your alcohol might be contaminated.

but if your where careful and made check valves and proper clean shit you could distill some 100% moonshine and get hashing:D

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH BREWING? I HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING MAKING MY OWN SPARKLING VERRY HARD CIDER

fucking caps lock

and i have a question. if i wanted to make a 5 gallon bucket of cider, would i need more than one package of brewing yeast? i read that its the amount of carbs/sugars that you put into the brew that make it stronger so i can always increase the amount of brown sugar i start with but will i need to increase the amount of yeast as well?

thanks for the link on not killing myself drinking my yeast water LOL

i would brew it right if i was going to do it.

yeah i have been, just learned how to brew apple cider in 20 min LOL its really not that hard.

i did come across this thing called "yeast nutrient" which they say to use because apples are high in sugar but not nutrition for the yeast and the yeast nutrient keeps the yeast alive and working at the top of thier game. Im wondering if theres a place for this yest nutrient in a DIY Co2 generator........hmmmmmm

Exactly... the alcohol (likely some H202 byproducts as well) will eventually kill of the yeasts. I used to start with half full bottles and then slowly add water to dilute the alcohol.. dumping is an equally good suggestion too!

i deleted my frieds list because i dont like the idea of random people being able to see my activity on here. probabally could have just done away with the randoms but i found it easier to just delete them all.

I was going to chop my fruity chronic and blue cheese tonight but the GF said no, kids are gone this weekend and she would rather me do it then. so i wait....fri or sat they are bith coming down. once they are down im going to start building in the room and making some shelving around the perimiter and a scrog screen in the middle. then the MH is going in and veg plants are going into the big cab and my few plants i have in flower are going under the CFL for now. when taxes come in ill be ordering my carbon filter and a 600w balast so they flowering plants will only have to deal with the CFL for a couple weeks.

for now...time to bake, i have that hermie plant that got taken down 4 weeks into flower thats going to make me some cookies tonight :) pics in a little bit.

ok so heres somemore pics, im getting better at remembering my camera.

first up is some of my veg tent. which is pretty dam full right now, couldnt fit another solo cup in there if i wanted to. did around 9 transpants last night so everything that is going into flower next is in a 1 gal pot at least. I will transplant into 3 gal pots once about 2 weeks before flower and i will start training at that point. most of the smaller containers are flowers. hollyhock's, Cosmo's and morning glories. my local agway is getting thier seeds in now so i will be picking up some tomatoes, oregeno, parsley, cilantro, and i wanted to see if i could find some lilac seeds as they have a verry nice fragrance. I do alot of the flowers for my mom, she is disabled now due to cancer and she has depresion issues so the flowers help her in the winter time to deal with the depression a little.

Heres the flower cab, didnt really take any close up pics because they all look the same as the pics i posted 3 days ago. pic #3 is the blue cheese, #4 is fruity chronic, #5 is bagseed clone, #6 & 7 are fruity chronic clones. #8 is bagseed seedlings. there was 3 seedlings, one was disposed of because it was male, one is female and one all the way to right is undetermined as of right now. thinking it will be a female as females generaly show sex later than males. the bagseed clone in pic # 5 has been lollypopped and super cropped, preety anxious about how its going to turn out. debating now if i want to give the general hydroponics nutes i have a go on it since its ready for some bloom nutes now. the fruity chronic and blue cheese will come down tomorow. will take pics of the harvest and i believe this thread will be over. Im going to start a new thread for the next grow which will be the 12 plants 8 strains i have in the veg cab right now.

and heres some pics of my cookie making excursion from last night, i ate one and it didnt do much, i did have a slight body buzz but i used mostly trim to make them so im thinking probabally take about 2-3 to get a good buzz off them. they are tasty as hell though. can hardly taste any of the cannabutter in them.
