World Of Hempy

guess i`m just stuck with what i can do for this run, lollipopping is something i`ve never done supercropping i`m familiar with, trouble there is it adds a week or so to the grow as the plant needs to recover, some recover faster even a day later but i`d have to factor in an extra week and i`m time poor as the deadline is the deadline for the room to come down...
Ive not really experimented with these techniques myself. .. My training has only ever gone as far as tying down or pinching. Mainlining was something I did before I knew it was called 'Mainlining'

so even in the 2litre pots you think they can sustain a "full" plant and not get root bound or def in major ways? again i ask from ignorance fellas, there so many things to consider with getting to the end.
2L Hempys are just great. We don't veg for long, if at all, so root bound is not an issue. You can easily end up with a 4ft plant if thats what you want.

as for feed the bio bloom is fine been useing it with success for ages now, light ... well thats set with a 600w and gull wing type reflector, ventilation is passive with just a 10inch fan moveing air...
Ive used BIOBIZZ's product myself. Good stuff and if its working for ya then what more can you ask.

Wow, here is yet another medium we could use in hempy's. Sure To Grow's "Hail". This is a white "aggregate" medium, is pH neutral, requires no prep and runs in the 1" cube range as does the mapito I'm dabbling with now. After some reading they say that it drains faster than rockwool, but retains more air. It's mass is very light compared to roockwool. One thing that stands out as a possible "con" is that they say it's a non-wicking medium. they push the idea that it allows you to water more often, allowing your plants to see more nutrition (not a bonus for me). They compare it to rockwool cubes that stay saturated too long allowing compaction to occur thus reducing aeration. This could be ok for hempy if you want a wetter res, with dryer layers up top similar to DWC. Can't help but think, in the hempy method of watering every several days that it would be better mixed with another medium that retains more water. Maybe this teaches us why mapito has foam or coco chunks in the mixture??? Of course the 1" cube size might be tough on the 2L folks here....1/2" would be prime for them. Right now RIU's picture upload is down....check out these links for now.......

Oh, just found the Sure to Grow aggregate medium in "Loose Fill" so the 2L folks are not left out! Check out Amazon....they have larger cylinder shapes too which would be an even better alternative to the 8" big blocks of Grodan rockwool I spoke of several pages back. Time to order myself some Xmas presents for some fun experiments.

I used the sure to grow starter cubes for a batch of seeds. Didn't care for them personally. They do hold very little water and dry out super fast, too fast IMO. They also grew algae fairly quickly. I used 10 cubes out of the slab and threw the rest away. That's not to say they won't work, possibly great for a hempy, but that was my experience with them.

I haven't killed her yet. Don't know how many days its been in the bucket. I'm going to start trying to go a day or two between waterings now. Also plan to put it in flower within the next couple days. Waiting on another plant to finish.

Thought on this so far... I think it might be premature to throw a seedling in the bucket. I think it's easier to raise them up with a little less effort in the party cups for a couple weeks then transplant into hempy. We shall see though, I haven't had her long enough to get my feelings sorted.

Nice girl Supchaka! That kind of reminds me of the strain that hermied on your thread that you put outside (beautiful hues and stalk thickness). On my last coco bucket grow I put germ'ed seeds right in the top of my 2gal buckets. My aim was to reduce the root circling in the party cups and get a more natural distribution of the root system from the start. They tuned out great but not much better than any other grow. I was lucky however, coco is a little more forgiving on younsters as it wicks well. I filled the res up halfway and didn't have to water again for a week. Perlite is another story with that daily thing going on. Let us know what you end up doing to keep her going. Oh, as far as root circling in cups, I found some clear cups at Wallmart that fit inside the opaque cups....lets you check the root progress if you are timing the transplant. Another nice thing about cups is I can put 3 of them under one 26W CFL (100w equiv.) for the initial growth phase.

Totally agree with the multiple plants in a smaller space too! I have those 3 little ones on like a 6" plate where this thing is taking a plate all by itself. The strain may be similar to the one I put outside, I don't know if I mentioned in here that I recently mixed up all my seeds because I had too many crosses to choose from and don't start enough plants at one time to run em all. So now I call it all the party mix. I had herms from an led shining in a vent during the off cycle. Got lots of feminized seeds now! They contain in one form or another, sour diesel, blueberry, dog kush, ak47, fruity chronic, mk ultra, nlxbb, og18. They were all top shelf and any combo of 2 should still be amazing. Now it will just be fun trying to figure out what I'm growing as they come up.

hi guys, i had some seeds so decided to give hempy a go, just wondering at what point you remove the lower growth, its cold here so at week 4 of 12/12 there just starting to show sex now, better to take before of just after they flower? there under a 600w all in 2 litre soda bottle "pots"...
I remove the lower couple branches - I dont go crazy on them - sometime during the second week, then defoliate the fan leaves at day 21-24 or so...

BTW, your screen name, you own an AE86 Corolla??

Praetorian,

Your avatar, MF DOOM or Gladiator? I meant to ask you that ages ago.
Gladiator! lol...

So I am coming up on the harvest of my first 7 aurora in 2l hempy... How does everyone else wash their perilite/verm medium out after a grow? I saw on 420fied's thread that he washed it in a rubbermaid tub with a bunch of small holes drilled in the bottom. Any other techniques that WOH members use? China caps? Ultra fine strainers? So excited that I don't have to go out and buy soil for the next round!

I took some decent shots with my Canon DSLR last night - I don't post many pics right now since my camera cord is MIA and my DroidX camera sucks IMO. I am going out to grab some last minute Xmas presents today, hoping to scoop up a cord and post some decent pics! My BC God's Bud is LOVING hempy, the growth is so much more vigorous compared to soil...

Here is a quick look at my world of hempy (Veg style)
I have some 100 peralite, some 100% Coco, my final Dirt, and some blends of Turface/Peralite & Coco/Peralite, and 2 DWC buckets to round it off

So far it looks like the Coco takes off a bit quicker but looks pretty even once they hit the rez.

I am also trying a few ladies with main-lining and took a shot of some roots with my turbo cloner for fun

Superb collection you have there Johnnymcpotts. Its cool to see someone do a mix of substrates in one go.

Damn, I'm fresh out of +REP again.

I would grab a massive flexy type bucket pour in the perl/verm mix and fill with water (and swirl around/rinse). .. ... Perlite would float and I would collect with a large garden sieve and empty into another bucket.

Verm would get thrown. I think verm breaks down into a mush after 1 grow.

January is coming around and hopefully I won't keep pushing my grow back but anyways trying to get y'all's opinion on my 2l hemp grow. 3x600's or 2x1000's in a 5x9 tent.

haven`t got one at the minute, but i`ve owned 12 of them in my time, from the standard 16v to sr20 conversion an fc`s aswell..... if you haven`t guessed yes massive drifter...;)

had the rest of the japper`s too, skylines r32 r33 and an r34 but the 32 is the best of the lot, the 33 are too heavy and if your going that heavy get a chaser, or a laurel... awesomefest when at full tilt around a few bends....
