What exactly do you base this on? Can you provide quotes or clips from Hamas' leaders saying the entire nation of Israel, including it's population and not just its government, should be "pushed into the sea"?
Everything I've read/seen says otherwise.
The Palestinians were kicked out of their territory, the Israelis built settlements and installed check points and road blocks and confined them to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, now they face discrimination and abuse on a daily basis, so they democratically elected a group to deal with the problem. They've tried the diplomatic approach only to be threatened with violence.. I mean, there is simply no other option for these people. Israel refuses to recognize them or address the issue. They're an oppressed people in a world with no voice. They're forced into this situation.
I just saw a Palestinian journalist tell an American reporter working for Vice "if we had a military, we wouldn't send rockets into Israel, the goal isn't to harm the civilians, we just have no ability to fight back". It's exactly like any other insurgency, Iraq, Afghanistan, if AQ or the Taliban had the ability to fight the American military, they would. They simply don't.
I really don't know what people expect.. Take their land, take their voice, take away any ability to fix it... this is what you end up with..

Part III - Strategies and Methods
Article Eleven: The Strategy of Hamas: Palestine is an Islamic Waqf
The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic Waqf throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection, no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it. No Arab country nor the aggregate of all Arab countries, and no Arab King or President nor all of them in the aggregate, have that right, nor has that right any organization or the aggregate of all organizations, be they Palestinian or Arab, because Palestine is an Islamic Waqf throughout all generations and to the Day of Resurrection. Who can presume to speak for all Islamic Generations to the Day of Resurrection? This is the status [of the land] in Islamic Shari’a, and it is similar to all lands conquered by Islam by force, and made thereby Waqf lands upon their conquest, for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. This [norm] has prevailed since the commanders of the Muslim armies completed the conquest of Syria and Iraq, and they asked the Caliph of Muslims, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab, for his view of the conquered land, whether it should be partitioned between the troops or left in the possession of its population, or otherwise. Following discussions and consultations between the Caliph of Islam, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, be peace and prayer upon him, they decided that the land should remain in the hands of its owners to benefit from it and from its wealth; but the control of the land and the land itself ought to be endowed as a Waqf [in perpetuity] for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. The ownership of the land by its owners is only one of usufruct, and this Waqf will endure as long as Heaven and earth last. Any demarche in violation of this law of Islam, with regard to Palestine, is baseless and reflects on its perpetrators. Article Twelve: Hamas in Palestine, Its Views on Homeland and Nationalism
Hamas regards Nationalism (Wataniyya) as part and parcel of the religious faith. Nothing is loftier or deeper in Nationalism than waging Jihad against the enemy and confronting him when he sets foot on the land of the Muslims. And this becomes an individual duty binding on every Muslim man and woman; a woman must go out and fight the enemy even without her husband’s authorization, and a slave without his masters’ permission. This [principle] does not exist under any other regime, and it is a truth not to be questioned. While other nationalisms consist of material, human and territorial considerations, the nationality of Hamas also carries, in addition to all those, the all important divine factors which lend to it its spirit and life; so much so that it connects with the origin of the spirit and the source of life and raises in the skies of the Homeland the Banner of the Lord, thus inexorably connecting earth with Heaven. When Moses came and threw his baton, sorcery and sorcerers became futile.
Article Thirteen: Peaceful Solutions, [Peace] Initiatives and International Conferences
[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad: “Allah is the all-powerful, but most people are not aware.” From time to time a clamoring is voiced, to hold an International Conference in search for a solution to the problem. Some accept the idea, others reject it, for one reason or another, demanding the implementation of this or that condition, as a prerequisite for agreeing to convene the Conference or for participating in it. But the Islamic Resistance Movement, which is aware of the [prospective] parties to this conference, and of their past and present positions towards the problems of the Muslims, does not believe that those conferences are capable of responding to demands, or of restoring rights or doing justice to the oppressed. Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the nonbelievers as arbitrators in the lands of Islam. Since when did the Unbelievers do justice to the Believers? “And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christians, till thou follow their creed. Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah [himself] is the Guidance. And if you should follow their desires after the knowledge which has come unto thee, then you would have from Allah no protecting friend nor helper.” Sura 2 (the Cow), verse 120 There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people are too noble to have their future, their right and their destiny submitted to a vain game. As the hadith has it: “The people of Syria are Allah’s whip on this land; He takes revenge by their intermediary from whoever he wished among his worshipers. The Hypocrites among them are forbidden from vanquishing the true believers, and they will die in anxiety and sorrow.” (Told by Tabarani, who is traceable in ascending order of traditionaries to Muhammad, and by Ahmed whose chain of transmission is incomplete. But it is bound to be a true hadith, for both story tellers are reliable. Allah knows best.)
i know,, TLDR but its writ that way for exactly that reason. ill sum up:
"palestine" is all the lands called that since the territory was first conquered by islam
once any land has gone islam (by conversion of by conquest) it can never be anything else
nothing can change that. EVER EVER EVER!
anyone who tries to change "palestine's" essential islamicness is a "sorcerer" and sorcery is forbidden by allah.
and finally quoted again, cuz its like, sorta relevant:
"Article Thirteen: Peaceful Solutions, [Peace] Initiatives and International Conferences
[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement."
and this is straight from hamas, the actual "palestinian authority"
the people of "palestine" were not "kicked out", the british mandate (territory taken in the surrender of the ottomans at the end of ww2, and retained on account of the ottoman aggression as reparations) was transferred by sovereign uthority to the new "State of Israel" after the brits bought up the land from the current legitimate owners within that land. the only people actually forced to move were tenants, renters, squatters and NON PALESTINE RESIDENT who had rushed in from the surrounding region to take advantage of the construction boom being brought on by jewish immigration and the attendant building of a nascent nation. since the "stealing of palestinian land", (wich charges were vigorously investigated and found baseless) never occurred, the lie has become a meme. endlessly recycled by those who profit by it's repetition. those arab and hashemite persons (moslem and christian and druze and zoroastrian, and anything else you can imagine) who were not mortified by the thought of living in a JEWiSH STAE!!!!????!!!! were free to stay and become israelis. and a great many moslem took the sizeable moneys offered for their land and left to start new lives with their fat sacks of jew gold for worthless desert. a few of the other groups. most of the Druze and nearly ALL of the christians stayed and they and their descendants are israelies today. meanwhile, the tenants, renters squatters and imigrant arabs moved into the west bank and set up their "refugee camps" demanding they be GIVEN lands to replace the ones they never owned and have kept up the fiction ever since.
gaza was GIVEN to egypt at the same time because it's high population of arabs and it's generally egyptian characer made that a natural fit. egypt lost that shit in war last time and then REFUSED to have it back. turns out gazans are a pain in the ass to manage even if youre not a jew
the west bank was intended to be an arab run state all itself, the legendary "palestine", but the jordanians annexed the territory on their way to attack israel. israel took it back, and then the jordanians also refused to have that shit back either. they didnt want to have to house the "refugee" camps and their bullshit in their land, and the arabs, who made up the majority of the "refugeees" have a long and bloody history with the hashemites too. go figure. ]
as far as demands for israel to be destroyed... yeah theres a shitload. and all by names youll recognize or people in high places in various islamic governemnts and organizations. lets ride:
"The end of Israel is the goal of our struggle, and it allows for neither compromise nor mediation... We don't want peace. We want war, victory." (Yasser Arafat, 1972)
"The Palestine National Council, in the name of God, and in the name of the Palestinian Arab people, proclaims the establishment of the state of Palestine on our Palestinian land, with Jerusalem as its capital." (Yasser Arafat, 15 November 198
"I personally wish that the Jews do not drive us to this war, as this will be a war of extermination and momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Tartar massacre or the Crusader wars. I believe that the number of volunteers from outside Palestine will be larger than Palestine's Arab population, for I know that volunteers will be arriving to us from [as far as] India, Afghanistan, and China to win the honor of martyrdom for the sake of Palestine ... You might be surprised to learn that hundreds of Englishmen expressed their wish to volunteer in the Arab armies to fight the Jews." ~ "A War of Extermination",
Mustafa Amin, Akhbar al-Yom, October 11, 1947
"We shall try to defeat you. I am not sure we'll succeed, but we'll try. We were able to drive out the Crusaders, but on the other hand we lost Spain and Persia. It may be that we shall lose Palestine. But it's too late to talk of peaceful solutions. ~Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam (Pasha Azzam) Secretary General of the Arab League at the time of this quote.
the PLO charter:
Article 15: The liberation of Palestine, from an Arab viewpoint, is a national
(qawmi) duty and it attempts to repel the Zionist and imperialist aggression against the Arab homeland, and aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine. Absolute responsibility for this falls upon the Arab nation - peoples and governments - with the Arab people of Palestine in the vanguard. Accordingly, the Arab nation must mobilize all its military, human, moral, and spiritual capabilities to participate actively with the Palestinian people in the liberation of Palestine. It must, particularly in the phase of the armed Palestinian revolution, offer and furnish the Palestinian people with all possible help, and material and human support, and make available to them the means and opportunities that will enable them to continue to carry out their leading role in the armed revolution, until they liberate their homeland.(Note, however, that the PLO's translation sometimes deviates from the original Arabic so as to be more palatable to Western readers. For example, in Article 15, the Arabic is translated as "the elimination of Zionism," whereas the correct translation is "the liquidation of the Zionist presence." "The Zionist presence" is a common Arabic euphemism for the State of Israel, so this clause in fact calls for the destruction of Israel, not just the end of Zionism.) ~

and that just took a few minutes to round up.
you may wish that the palestinians were simple peaceful farmers, harlmess goathereders and innocent cobblers placed under the yoke of israeli oppression but it just aint so.
you may wish that all people could join hands and sing "free at last" but it aint happening as long as the pallies have a stated aim of exerminating the jews in "palestine"
you may wish that we could all just give peace a chance
but if wishes were fishes we weould all eat well this winter.
