i wish all that happened was me losing my job at christmas.
15 months is not so bad. Did they get you close to home or are they gonna ship you out of state?
i have to go to oregon, but it is supposed to be a pretty nice place. it's a 12 hour drive.

The Obama administration is keeping real tight-lipped about it as they weigh their options.
The AG's from both of those states' attempted to get the DOJ/DEA to confirm or deny whether or not they would continue enforcing fed policy and were told they would have to wait for further info.
If a state's attorney general can't even pry the info outta them, I think we're pretty much just gonna have to wait and see.
Obama was shitting his pants everytime he made a campaign stop in CO because he knew how closely the issue was tied in with his carrying the state and he also knew how badly he didn't wanna discuss it during the election. Notice how neither candidate so much as said the word marijuana throughout this season? Because it was the 10,000 pound bright green elephant in the room that was just waiting to shit on the heads of their campaign.
Cuba, Marijuana, Campaign Finance Reform. These are the 3 litmus paper issues by which I will rate the administration after it's had the full 8. If those minor concessions can't be made, then everything else with the possible exception of Universal Healthcare is all for show and stance.

Our prisons are publicly run, it's not any better man.
I can do 10 years for having 6 plants if I had a scales in close proximity (which I don't/never had).
It must be strange having it "sorta legal", at least I know if a pig catches me I'm fucked, you guys have to check what type of pig they are before determining if they're allowed arrest you.
I wonder if Dumbo challenges the newly legalised states how many of his butt-huggers on here will still make excuses for him?

I voted for Obama twice. I can't say he's been a friend to marijuana, medical or otherwise, but the alternatives were much worse.
Hopefully he will recognize the votes cast by the people of WA and CO and allow a smooth end to prohibition. More than likely, there will be some court cases though.
The administration has been very quietly gathering it's position together I think. We'll just have to wait and see. I think they want a preview of what the tax revenue is going to look like before they say Yay or Nay.
I know that here in CA they came in and are trying to obtain Mendocino County records on it's MMJ program now which has some people nervous.
Personally, I would have no problem speaking out against the administration. Just because I voted for Obama, doesn't mean I think the federal government is somehow above reproach. I just prefered him over Lord Mittens.

I know local da's in CO and WA dropped all their pending weed charges so that might give future cases a precedent to draw from. For whatever that's worth I guess..
You're right about the prisons though. Whole lotta money goin on there. And i'm pretty sure they just eased restrictions now so that private companies can outsource labor to prisons too. Even more incentive to lock people up; cheap labor.
The fed-govt owns a company called Federal Prison Industries that employs 13,000 inmates, most for less than a dollar an hour.
