Water hash

Hey guys, how good is the hash when you make it from ice cold water and shake/drain/filter? The ice water method seems pretty easy and from the video I saw looks ok... Is it legit? Once the coffee filter (or whatever filter you use) dries, as well as the hash inside, is it good to go? or do you need to let it sit for a few days or anything like that?

Thanks!

No offense, but I'm going to sub this one to see where it goes.
I don't see anything positive coming from it, but what the hey?
I'm experimenting right now as well.

Bubble hash is excellent the only problem with ice/water extraction you don’t get much hash compare to other method, on the other hand I never heard of any house exploding due ice/water extraction while it’s quite common with other method

Beats throwing your trim out or smoking the crap. Got a killer bag set - 5 heavy duty bags - for $32 on Amazon.

Had a White Widow that croaked about a month into flower. Turned out the roots were totally bound by a frigging peat puck wit the net that is supposedly biodegradable. It ain't so don't believe it. Anyway we got about 5 grams of good hash off her since the bud wasn't even really developed. Good hash too. Not blonde Lebanese or anything but better than no hash at all.

36.6g total here, the yellowish one is haze bubble hash, the dark one is BC Kush variation of color in the piece is due to multiple bag of extract being mix together in a same block

That's strange, you mention that about the netting, because was just recently remembering a guy having problems, and come to find out, he hadn't removed the netting either, and was root bound.

Bubble hash is absolutely incredible...Make sure you research the proper way to do it, look up Matt Rize's tutorial, or Subcool's tutorial on Youtube. The key is making sure everything you use is clean. The end product will depend on the quality of the product you put into making it. Here are a few pictures of some water hash I've made recently, most of which was absolute full melt. Melted like wax does.

I will also say, I used to make BHO, and whip it into wax and/or budder. I promise you, water hash is a much better product. The flavor is far better, and while the potency is a little less (The difference in 70% and 40% cannabinoids, not a huge deal), you don't risk inhaling excess contaminants the butane has in it. No need to purge for hours just to get a clean product, which in actuality still contains residue from the solvent, regardless of how much purging is done. It is nearly impossible to remove every bit of solvent from oil, in my experience. Not to mention, I got frequent headaches when smoking budder, and I'm not the only person who has experienced this. Many people are like me, and used to make wax and budder, and have moved on to water hash because it is a healthier, tastier, and more pure way to medicate.

i actually just finished this months batch of ice hash this morning. it cost me $8 in ice to get a 43.4gr ball of beautiful amber color. ill let it set for 2-3 days to get a good ebony skin on it. it smokes so smooth, but my biggest problem was where i live people just have not been very exposed to hash and i couldnt give away for a long time.

I lost way more than 50% of the juice trying to scrape shit from 8 different bags. So now I add cold water
and hand mix for 20 minutes. I strain the juice only through my 200 micron bag. The resulting juice is evaporated overnight on large glass plates.
When I scrape the plate after drying I get hash dust. As fine as baby powder. So fine it falls through a screen.
So fine I use a small pepper shaker to sprinkle my dust on a new loaded bowl.

BigSteve.
Today:
* Dome room = 1 BuKu clone, 6 NL x BB clones.
* Veg room = 5 GigaBud clones, 1 BuKu clone, 1 Critical Sensi Star & 1 Raw Dieasel from seed.
* Flower room = 5 GB from seed, 2 BuKu clones and 3 NL x BB clones
That's what a perpetual grow looks like from the inside.

Thats the way it is around here too, nobodys much into it. But I've been watching a buddy doing it with the icewater and bags and shit and it keeps coming out a chlorophyll shade of green. Kinda nasty actually. How do you get the amber or better yet, a black color to it? I just want to pass it along to my buddy, we never cared much for hash, I'm forever in search of the perfect bud. Everything else I throw away.

I prefer dry sieved hash over bubble. Smoke and effect. Bubble, to me, is just like smoking cannabis, but concentrated.. Dry sieved is a different high. Just my opinions and experiences.

It comes out green when you over agitate. You get blonde, brown and black from less agitation.

heartlandhank is right but you can also rinse your hash to get rid of that color. watch matt rise's ice wax video on the tube

My first batch that I did, I only soaked and shook in ISO for about 15 minutes, and it came out brownish, but by this morning, had turned almost black.
The second batch I did, I soaked in the fridge and shook about every 30 minutes for the whole afternoon, and the liquid looked very green, but as I let it evap, it turned brown, but I'm not done drying it yet, but the residue looks a dark green, so I imagine it's going to turn black as well.
Somebody told me last night, that letting it soak too long is what makes the chlorophyl break down and give the green color.

i've washed for 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes and never longer than 3 minutes. With ice cold iso. The longer i wash, the darker it gets (accompanied by better yield). Hence not washing for any longer than 3 minutes. My preference is around 2 minutes.

I like the idea of dry sieved, then you can make butter as well when you're done. Where do you buy your screen? And how do I know if the screen is fine enough?

Thanks man

I've been using this 250ish micron screen for screen printing (t shirts)

haha where does one find something like that? I'm pretty happy with just a screen for now, like the first pic you posted. Is that something I would find at a fabric store? Small town, a made up story might be nice for why I'm buying it... Do I just ask for a "micron screen for screen printing"? Does a silk screen work good too?
