I don't think that's what the warning on the label means when it says to mix with something

Both the batches of ISO I made the other night turned out black, one I only soaked for a little while (20 minutes), and the second, I soaked and refrigerated for over 6 hours. The first liquid was tan/ brownish, the second was green, but both evap'ed and finished black.
