I don't like to be hateful, but the GOP got what they deserved.
Apples and oranges. You're comparing a primary result with a general election result, and assuming 100% went to the other leading brand.
Also, I remember with bemusement the disconnect between RP supporters' view of their prevalence, and everyone else's. Predictions of massive support in the primaries, bolstered by rather generous descriptions of turnout and spirit at RP rallies, turned out a bit airy. cn

Yet, turn out numbers say the "GOP" was down, Libertarian numbers were up, and many stayed home. It's all guess work in hindsight, but the GOP did disenfranchise the libertarian wing of the party, at a time they could hardly afford to do so.

The libertarian wing of the party has been in trouble since the Reagan years. The doctrinaire wing took over. In my estimation, the tend cannot be reversed. cn

Try the tin foil hat line with some one else. What I stated was the FACT that RP received very little media attention beside the amount others were given. Why not try reading the lines, instead of between them? It really does aid in comprehension.
