you do realize in order for Iran to have a route to the Mediterranean sea they would still have to cross either Iraq or Turkey borders before they even get to Syria...so WTF are you and Romney talking about. You have no route with out permission from Iraq or Turkey
Trade sanctions have restricted Iran's ability to transport arms and goods through its own seaports. Iran is being forced to using air transportation to move cargo through an air corridor through Iraqi airspace into Syria and down to its seaports. We're not talking ground transportation through borders, it's just a matter of airspace provisions. There is also talks of a pipeline through Turkey and ending in Syrian ports on the Mediterranean Sea.

Tehran certainly uses Syria to supply the militant groups Hezbollah and Hamas, but that has little to do with the water (sea) as Romney so said. and what pipeline talks are going to have Iran passing thru Kurd land ??? got a link to that one

I am sorry, but every president going back 40 years or so has talked about energy independence. It's become this talking point of many presidents, and not one president has got us closer to that. I believe obama more then I do romney when it comes this subject. The lobbyist for the oil companies probably have a huge strangle hold on washington. I understand the we have not found anything comparable to gas, but we have keep looking. Even if we have 50 years of oil below us. 1. Doesn't mean that oil will stay domestically. 2. Doesn't mean we should be piliging the land if its last resources. I sure in hell love my national parks and my oceans. I sure in hell don't want to see oil rigs everywhere.

The technology was not available 40 years ago. The technology we have now to extract fuels from the earth has come a LONG way. Energy independence is now finally possible. We have more energy at our fingertips than any other country in the world. Even more than Saudi Arabia. It just doesn't seem like it because of all the federal regulations prohibiting America from reaching its full potential. WE can vote for Obama who will continue to pay off his campaign donors with green energy subsidies, or we can put a president in office who will make life cheaper and easier for the middle class RIGHT NOW
