the ar frame cannot be made to support heavier rounds without a new bolt, new chamber/barrel assy, top reciever, gas return assy, recoil buffer, etc. which means a whole new gun all that stays from the original .223/5.56 nato weapon is the lower reciever, the geegaws and tacticool barrel shroud.

calling a weapon that , as designed will be more likely to wound than kill, fires rounds that get deflected by underbrush, and tumble off course in a mild cross breeze "versatile" is silly. it does one job, irritating the enemy and making them bleed, and does it passingly well. it cannot break heavy cover, disable vehicles (not even a mazda RX7, much less a ww2 jeep) or deliver power on target to reliably kill people, and definately not game animals.

i dont know who this heidi is, or how far she can spit , but i can fix my bayonet in about 4 seconds, from frog to lug. less if im carrying it for cross draw. and it's a real bayonet on a real rifle, ww1 style, not a buck knife on a bb gun.
