Anyone ever use Reflectix insulation from Lowes?

I found these reflective rolls at Lowes. It's called reflectix insulation. It's thin but padded like with reflective bubble rap. Anyone ever use that? If so does it work pretty good?

It's all I use lighthouse, mylar on bubblepad. Durable and great reflection. I use it as a wall skin over a 2"x4" frame, roll it up to get at my plants instead of using doors or removable walls. Easy to use, easy to install, durable, poke a hole in it and it's fine. I've got 3 grow boxes made with Reflectix, can't say enough good things about it.

yep....cost me 90.00 to totally wrap my 4x8x8 room. i have 2 400 watters and one 600 watter, vertical hung , bare, no shield or reflectors and my plants seem to love it. i like the fact that it kind of insulates as well.............................

Ok thank you! I was trying decide on getting that or emergency blankets. I had ran into it last night at Lowes. It would be much easier hanging that then a bunch of emergency blankets. And since i have enclosed an area in attic with plastic walls, that will help to keep it a little warmer in there too. Cool! Thanks for your pictures!Great looking plants!

Lighthouse it stays up great with a row of staples. I use to use a runner strip to staple over but the stuff doesn't need it. If all you have are nails use hard plastic between the nail head and Reflextic - a cut up ice cream tub lid/bucket or the such.

If you're going to roll it up be sure to hang it so it rolls naturally - it doesn't roll well the other way even over time. I had a 4'2" door and hung perpendicular, never went well. I ended up narrowing the door to 3'10" so I could rotate the Reflectix.

Your welcome. Its over by the regular insulation. Good prices too!And hey Hobbes, great room too. It looks like a walk in closet or something. Do you have any problem with the smell seeping into the house? I used to have that problem at the other house we lived in because i had a walk into attic. My area now is up in the attic and the smell NEVER comes down into the house! FANTASTIC!

dam, im pretty late on this thread but doesnt anyone know abt the apprx yield wen using this reflectix stuff??
Yield depends on strain, lights, fertilizers, size pots, veggin time, plant size, etc... This stuff will only help the reflective capabilities of what you're using.

I've got an old extra windshield shade, and I was going to try using that to line a PC case if I do that instead of a closet grow.

thnx. let me try to reword my question. do u think that using Reflectix would hinder yield in any way? vs using mylar or panda film etc?.. thnx in advance for your help

I use it and i love it. Especially where im forced to grow now is very cold and this stuff keeps the heat in. With that being said, make sure you have a good exhaust fan setup. :)
Whats even better is you can bring it down and reuse forever. Easy to clean (if you need to) and easy to install.

I have used it in the past but in my new room I plan to use the build my walls with paneling on the outside over drywall then insulation battingto fill the walls and the 1/2 inch reflective syrafoam sheets on the inside of the room... the bubble insulation worked well in my old room for years but did not stay up too well because my walls were cinder block and attaching it was tough. I am going to try for stelth this time no sound no smell in a 2 x 11 room split into a 2x3 flower room a 2x3 veg room and a 2x5 common work area well hidden just to produce enough for my wife and I. noone will be able to tell its there and it should have a nice reflective quality about it.

Where I'm growing is also pretty cold, I made the newbiest mistake of lining my grow box with tin foil, but have been told that it's a) not reflective enough and b) too much of a heat trap... My box is too hot with just CFLs and I have to prop the lid to keep it between 75-80f. Do you think that the Reflectix would be better? I know it will be more reflective, but need something that won't hold on to heat?

It's radiant insulation so yeah, it will keep heat in. Poly film is probably your best bet if you want minimal insulation but something that will reflect light.
