Yeah commitment by me will be hard as I am currently starting my own business as well as my full time job as well as gym twice a day 
Also the amount of times I have said "I am possibly the smartest person in the world" to myself still does not surprise me. Ok how about this. Nimbin already hold some stoner comp but they don't compare the best weed as far as I am aware but without a doubt they have a lot of pot head growers going there. Using marketing there we state we will be holding an Australian Cannabis Cup (ACC, clever because we will all get arrested by the Australian Crime Commission)
Only thing is we hold it in WA for Copperhead. Hold it in the Principality of Hutt River. I don't know about their laws exactly there on drugs but I do know technically they are not part of Australia, They pay no tax towards the ATO but rather a smaller tax towards themself and lastly they do not fall under WA drug legislation. Only problem is getting them to agree with it, then making sure they aren't invaded by the piggies of WA. haha

Also side note, as far as judges go. We may have to be the judges for the first event but I am sure I can talk Jorge Cervantes in too judging the second event if we pay for his flights and accommodation etc.
EDIT: Even if we weren't judges it would look biased if the operators of the event were submitting their own weed.

i dont usually talk in this thread but i do read it often and i have been folloing this chat for ages. im actually surprised you guys are still talking abut this hahaha i thought it would peater out.
anyway i was just going to say the site would be easy enough. i used to be a member of a grow forum it was invite only you couldn't even view the site unless you were invited and verified by an existing member it was a very cool system and ensurd no piggies as unless someone knew you and really really trusted you it was a no go.
best forum i ever went on. elite growers and a very tight nit family. when someone got busted there was a paypal account and everyone chipped in for bail and everything it was awesome. i think it did get busted or something eventually though as one day the site just disappeared with no explanation. either that or i did something to upset someone there and they just went invisible to me again i dont know but im sure you could set something like that up easy enough

As far as the site goes I was more meaning if the idea of this kind of cup being open to growers of the public you wouldn't be able to protect it and more in terms of the seedbank idea copperhead had you wouldn't be able to have a seedbank in Aus with a website unless it was invite only.

You could but a lot of browsers will just stop and say that you are being routed to a different site and it will take it as a security threat. It's not conneting to the site that poses the issue it's the hosting of the site's files and the registration of the domain. All domains registered are listed on WhoIS which is a registry of all the domains registered everywhere. Police can look at where you registered your domain and request that your details be handed over and/or your domain to be removed. The same thing can happen for your filehosting.
Another way it could be done is register the domain and host files in a country where it is not prohibited. Then act as if you were from that country. Only a select few would know it was one of us in Aus. Customs are only good at stopping international orders but are pretty bad at stuff that is already in Aus.

thats actually, not as crazy, as it sounds, imagen if it was a real legal loop hole, and if the cops, invaded, it was a breach, of international laws.
then if we paid, the landowner much like a festival, in england, hes only, renting a paddock, to us, then, let the 3 days of weed, testing begin

Setting up something of this magnitude is just insane. I'm probably more then happy to help on here but as far as making a commitment outside of this forum I probably can't do that at this stage. well, my orginal idea was online awards, with the chance of sending in a sample if selected for the actual, end of year ,
not an event as such costing 50k, but i spose i want both, but first the online,
i mean wouldnt we need to set up pay pal, accounts n shit, for a few years before the funds would allow for a 50k event hosted some place, with free piss n shit, i mean flying top name stonners form the states aint coming out my pay check

Only problem I have personally with online judging is it's hard to really judge bud unless you see it in person, can feel it, smell it, breath it etc.
What do you mean set up a paypal account for a few years? Paypal is no safer then using our own bank accounts aha

im saying all, members would have to be volunteers, and the actual, competion, or org., would need its own account, perhaps not paypal, but an account somewhere.
for entrance fees, and donations then it may not take off at first,
until all the bugs are sorted out and a transparrent voting system are in place, but then i cant see why it wont take off
ps. it probly wont be very fair jimmy, but it will be fun,
