On a scale of 1-10...

How important is it to distill your tap water before you water your plants with it on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being most important. Thanks.

that depends on your tap water. but, overall i'd say 0
agreed... me and scrogl seem to agree on a lot of things of this nature...

i like to look at how things work in nature.. is rain water ph'ed or anything of that sort?? of course it's not, it is what it is, yet natural plants outdoors seem to do live fine and prosper..

unless you get a water analysis you'll never know whats in your water. you could have fusarium, pythium, all sorts of bacterias and unknown shit in it. but 95% of people get lucky with there water and dont have do shit.either way water is a critical part in growing and regardless wether or not what your ppm meter says you shouldnt just blow it off and start growing.

Either way you knowing whats in your water besides just an ec/ph reading benefits more overall. id give it a 0 also unless you love your babies and want them to be perfectly happy.

rain water is collected in the atmosphere where there are air pollutants and such, rain water is not ph perfect in nature as those rain clouds collect pollutants which comes down in the water, most rain water is slightly acidic with it being 6.3 where i live.

i use municipal tap water ..........chlorine, chloramines, contaminants and all. i do collect rain and use that indoors, but only as a way of being cheap/sustainable.

chlorine/chloramine kills off most contaminants anyways, rain water is not cleaned at all, if you live in so-cal id stay away from rain water as its full of bad shit. tap water in certain areas is contaminated by fusarium which is not killed by chloramine.

Either way water should never be disregarded as a "0" as thats being careless, i'd give my babies filtered water with my OWN additives instead of doing a hit or miss with tap water, so many problems are caused by water.

I'd have to say water is one of the most important things to think about...often over looked...I'd tell you that "your on the right track" and keep researching what others say is simple...good growing
