Native American churches in New Mexico (peyote)

First i just wanted to say hello to all, particularly in hallucination department here. I think this is my first post in this section.

Im not that familiar with any hallucinogens, although I've dabbled with lsd when i was around 15-18 years old. I think i enjoyed trippin out with my friends more than the actual trip itself. I remember having the worst back pains EVER every time i would trip.

Anyhow, sorry i already got off topic .

I came across a movie on netflix called "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" and now am fascinated! It sounds like the greatest trip ever, and completely different than lsd.

So i started to do a few google searches, and "apparently" DMT is super easy to make. I read a few ways how to extract it, and its WAAAY over my head. Im not even gonna go thurr.

So then i somehow stumbled upon a thread here on riu about san pedro cactus, which then somehow led me to another artical about......Native American churches here in NM and their legal practice of peyote.

Im just wondering, would it be disrespectful for me to go to one of these churches for the sole purpose of wanting to try peyote for the first time?

Im thinking it might actually help me out with my "spiritual side" because of right now i dont have much of one. I think the term i am is agnostic, but im leaning closer to athiest, if that even makes since.

I wonder what peyote is like. If its anything like what ive heard about DMT, its gotta be freakin crazy.

Also, i wonder if DMT is something i can just buy, or is it rare and i would basically have to make it myself, which i dont ever see that happening.

its crazzy if your white you better be related lolz and as for me im mexican, the males dont like mexicans so you must imagine what it was like very uncofortable but i won them over, i had to make the travel into new mexico into the sticks and i can tell you what my experience was do you want to hear it? i myself had no fucken clue what was instore for my ass.. it felt like i was cooking to death...

Yeah id love to hear your experience. And sorry i know nothing about peyote. I always thought it was just a hallucinogen, eat it, and start tripping. I didnt kno there was any sweating involved lol. Sweating doesnt sound like my cup of tea. And yeah im white, so i guess the natives wouldnt take kind of me?

Ive heard of those sweat lodge things. Where it practically cooks you close to death. Definitely not interested in that

I do many ceremonies which are hundreds of years old. I'd recommend meeting or coming across a medicine man and ask questions and learn. May take a month or a few years to do a church meeting. But those ways are a lifestyle, not just an expI've never done a church meeting but I've had peyote. Very interesting, not intense but I observed and was able to just experience and be an observer I in my surroundings as opposed to having my perspective thoughts. Was interesting. But I'd recommend giving it time. Many people hold sweat lodges And have died due to wrong intentions and charging people. I've done them since I was about 3 and I'm 20 now. Same goes for church meetings. People can have wrong intentions and can cause things to happen that shouldn't. Just my thoughts on the subject. Don't rush, things like that, they'll definitely come.

That sounds very interesting. I just started thinking about all this stuff a few hours ago, and the thought of seeing a medicine man, and possibly years for a church meeting is baffling. And i was also hoping peyote would be intense lol.

Don't disregard it, just my thoughts. Be careful is mainly what I mean. Also I haven't done a church meeting. The medicine man usually aids with hallucinations and spiritual assistance during the trip

I don't think disrespectful is a strong enough word. Peyote is sacred, it's not something you take just to trip.
Look for San Pedro cacti if you want a similar experience to peyote. There's tons of ways to make ayahuasca if you want to try DMT like that. There's even clinics you can go to in South America if you want a more "authentic" experience.

From what very little i know about San Pedro, it sounds pretty fun. I might go on a quest to find some. I dont suppose theres any growing wild here in the land of enchantment. I remember reading it mainly growes in the Andes mountains in Peru.

After watching that movie last night on netflix about DMT, I would love to try it. Thanks for the tip. I'll start looking into ayahuasca. But if its anything like what i read last night, about all the crazy exctraction techniques, then i'll just have to forget about it

Nah you can just make a traditional ayahuasca tea. Im gonna order some seeds of the banisteriopsis caapi, and some of the psychotoria viridis. U have to make a tea by mixing up beaten vines of the caapi and the leaves of the viridis. Gonna be a while till they are ready but i dont care, jus gonna grow them out. You can also buy the vines and plant leaves themselves i think but im jus gonna grow the seeds fuck it

I think that will probably be my best bet, making tea with ayahausca. I just spoke with an old buddy of mine who suprising sounded like he knew quit a bit about DMT. Said that he came across it a few times. He said it was a orange reddish color, and he smoked it, and had a pretty intense trip for about 15 minutes. But he also said the whole time he was aware of who he was and was aware that he was sitting on the couch the whole time. So its not exactly what i had heard from the documentary, so im guessing he was on a much more mild trip. But he was saying theres some plants at home depot i could buy to make it. So i guess that will be my next step is to see if there actually is something locally.

Man this is weird, i havent thought about tripping in years, but ever since that movie, im anxious to give this stuff a try.

yeah i dn't think i would smoke it myself. I don't think im in any rush, besides, spiritual development takes a lifetime lol so i figure if i start growing from seed now, i should b ready to trip on my tea in like a few years, i dunno i havent gone into that much detail about how long the plants take to grow. But ive only just started delving into shrooms after about 9 years on weed. I think MDMA is a good spiritual drug, if its the right setting, i can go away in the morning feeling like a changed person. But yeah thats about all ive ever done mdma and weed, and did ket once, not a massive amount, mixed with mdma and half a tab of acid (i dont think i really felt the acid, i dunno, i couldnt feel my body anyways lol i just felt like a consciousness spectating the festival) the ket wasn't enlightening by itself, i think that was the mdma taking control of the ket.
But like you ive been reading up on which halucinogens will offer the most peaceful and enlightening trip. DMT sounds good, and so does mescaline but its gonna be more of a mission me getting that peyote round here than growing some caapi and viridis from scratch and making a ayahuasca brew lol gonna order some san pedro seeds too.

You also endanger their status as a free church. These folk are watched on and off and should you be introduced simply as a guy wanting to get high, authorities would frown on that and could rightly call the church simply a drug dispensing gang of indians.

Many places sell various lengths of live cuttings, some rooted, some sell "sprites" . If you think you have the patience to grow peyote then you certainly have the patience to grow san pedro or peruvian torch - they tend to grow at least a foot a year, two or three decent rooted cuttings could net you your own experience in a single year and if you are prudent, you can grow yourself a small forest.

Or you can find that magical garden I have mentioned once or twice here. There is an amusement park in this country that has many tons of san pedro cactus growing in the front of one of its entrances.

learn what it looks like and go from amusement park to amusement park in search of the treasure and pick only what you need. Try to get limbs that don't have graffiti scratched on the skin.

okay thier i was in prescott arizona i left my home town i was in a bad area and with the crime rate out of the roof, the american me movie had came out colors came out!! the gang seeen was intense growing up in L.A was pritty rough the graffiti art was booming i was starting to hang out with the nabor hood kids i was geting out of hand, shootings were just another day in L.A. you had the stop drop and roll for fires in school drill you had the under the table if an earth quik hit and you had the drop to the floor if thier is a drive by lolz im not kidding well i had mad it to juvi and well county jail i was just out and off probation my mother was tired of it.. half my family is german and they lived in a small town called prescott arizona man i hated it out thier nothing but old folks well i went with my bro lil did my lil nogin comprehend indians all i knew is they were in the movies i was about 19 years old, well i hit the prescott seen well thier was no seen just hard work roofing, and well i didnt know much but i met my brothers wife and family some lived on the res??? i remember the res i thought owwwwww ya man its gona be a bunch of tee pees lolz..boy they looked at me like i was retarded..

Well i was pritty bored and the res in prescott was just full of indians that partied hard mostly leeding to fist fights.. i stayed away a few years went by and i met this girl, i met her at a gas station, first let me tell you i love toes pritty lil toes, i was in line and the regester closed the new person came on and the line shifted to the next line i walked a few steps and i looked back down was a pair of pritty toes painted red in nice high heals i followed them up to a butifull figure and then it mached a butifull face man was this girl FIRE!!!!!!!!!! i was like woooowwww i quickly thought man this chick might not be from hear!!!!! i paid and walked out.. Well working all that time i was pritty built and i thought to myself man i better ask her for her number and as she walked out i sead.. EXCUSE ME UM ARE YOU FROM HEAR, SHE REPLIED NO IM FROM NEW MEXICO WHY? AND I THEN SEAD BECAUSE YOU DONT LOOK LIKE YOUR FROM AROUND HEAR I NEVOR SEEN YOU BEFORE? IS THIER ANY WAY I CAN GET YOUR PHONE NUMBER???SHE SEAD NO!!!!! LOLZ shit it was worth a try i thought and told her look im just want to be a friend and if you need to explore the town i will be more than happy to show you around hears my number... I THOUGHT SHE WAS ASIAN LOLZ... she had long legs and a nice toosh for being native lolz she was very pritty. i pumped my gas and never heard from her again..

Well i had this roomates one was a foe finish master he sang song at pubs and it was country and song like that song i forgot the name brandon of the song ow JOWANA DONT WORRIE BECAUSE THIS GITAR WILL PAY SOMETHING A MILION MILES AWAY song like that!!!!!! girls loved him he kinda reminded me of a gay guy but he wasnt and joel a short squirl looking roofer that love to drink.. both white and me we smoked bud ate mushrooms and well worked the construction was booming the only one getting laid was brandon.. and me and joel always parting after work and brandon on his gitar, one day the phone rang.....???? loud for some reson i could hear it extra loud..
