MMJ Patient needs skilled growers' advice...

My name is Krystal, and I'm a MMJ patient. prescribed for asthma, but It helps stress, nausea, sleeping, and it makes me want to kill stupid people a lot less often.. lol I'm 23, and grow indoors.
I have both type of bulbs for the red and blue spectrum of light, my walls, ceiling, floors, etc are lined with silver diamond foil, 3 1000 watt ballasts, reflective hoods and cooling tubes for the lights, an air conditioner to keep the temp. right. I check the ph level of water, and dirt before and after watering. I use organic fox farm fertilizer with worm castings and bat guano in it, only water for one week in the bud stage. they grow in 10 gallon poly bags with all natural soil. I do add some perilite to the mix. I harvest when about 50% hairs have turned color. The outcome is okay... good sized buds. good taste, smooth, great high, and tons of hairs, crystals and it's sticky. not pretty enough though. My last plants had nice big buds on them but were root bound. could that have effected the color of the buds? they ended up being a darker green and not a lighter green. we had purple wreck, blueberry dutch passion, dutch passion, and lemon skunk. This time it will be purple wreck, train wreck, lemon skunk, blueberry dutch passion, idaho skunk((what it will be named when we're done doing what we're doing with it, after so many generations...)) white widow, super queen fruit spirit, and something else... oh, Himalayan gold...
My problem is I want it to look as pretty as the stuff you buy from the dispensary, while being all natural. I must be doing something wrong, or not doing something at all, or whatever it is, I want to know, so I can make it better. =) any help would be greatly appreciated. just trying to get the best quality. a lot of money for supplies and power bills goes into this, so I want it to kick ass! I want people to puke off the shit.. lol jk thanks for your time.

So what ive noticed you have to do to make your buds look connoisseur is to not touch them at ALL ever ever ever unless your going to trim them or transport them (curing process) . I had beautiful buds with a great trichome profile and very fat buds too (hashberry). but i was just so excited and touched them all the time. Also if your growing from seed YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO CLONE AT LEAST 5 FROM EACH PLANT because at the end of the cycle there will be one BEST pheno and thats the one you want to stick too . i WAS DUMB AND JUST CLONED WHAT EVER plant i felt like and did not notice some pheno's were better than others. make sure you organize and name each plant so you can tell the difference. i hope this helps.
peace

I would add that when you water every other day that your nutes are at 1000 ppm

Just wondering more about pheno's. is that an abbreviation i'm not aware of? i'm new to growing, and don't know all the terms yet... Sorry. So no touchy? is it something to do with the oils we secrete, maybe? interesting... Also, does that include the stems below the buds? does that include airflow causing the buds to move? movement is good, right? I usually do about 6-10 clones from each plant, depending on how many I have of the type of plant.. and yes, we did do a lot of touching this last time, but there were other factors, like having to move into a new house because of en electrical fire due to neglect from the landlord... ((we were told by the landlords they hired a licensed electrition, but they didn't...)) so we had to move them.

So Pheno is just a word that means a characteristic of something. Like your perants for example had kids and each kid looks different and has their own specialty in way and thats the key of choosing your best pheno (plant) from the pack of seeds you got. Like from the 10 seeds i got some grew faster some had better smell some some had a fatter yield some looked very connoisseur and you have to choose the one that carries all of these characteristics. Thats how you get buds that look like from dispensaries.
And when i say move i mean the curing process because you have to do a lot of touching and moving And its okay to touch the stems just make sure you wash your hands before so especially if you smoke cigarettes because nicotine can still be on your hands which is VERY bad for your plant its like pouring oil on your plant... and air flow is great so mildew/mold doesnt build up in the bottom of the canopy also look up "lolipopping you plant" this gives you fat buds.

Oh, I see. Very helpful... but what can nicotine do to the plants? I do smoke, and don't wash my hands... so I take it smoking in the same room is a bad idea? lol you know, I was figuring carbon monoxide, but we have co2 for that.. what qualities do you look for, personally in a marijuana plant to get those awesome buds? =) thank you, SO much! you've been awesome!

also, what about marijuana smoke? we smoke in the bathroom next to the room that's open to the bathroom where we smoke marijuana but we have a diamond foil wall to keep it seperate and have better lighting to all plantts equally...

all my clones live... we have tried root powder, root gel, and splicing the stem after it's been cut, always cut at an angle too... one plant actually didn't root, now that I think about it.. it was strange.. it turned into a bulb, not roots.... weird, huh?

honestly all i know is that cigg smoke is very bad for the plants i would think it would slow down growth or effect the potency and the way it could of came out, if it was in optimal conditions. and the only reason to clone at least five is so you can make sure at least one will live and what i have noticed is that when a clone roots it first starts out with a thick bundle and starts to form those thin roots of the sides maybe the the clone that looks like a bulb just didnt finish rooting. also be careful on how you water your clones too much water kills them easy and try too keep the roots on a warm platform *faster root production*
and marijuana smoke is a okay! i love to smoke next to my ladies.

What i look for in the best pheno are mainly 3 things 1. potency 2. trichome profile 3. speed of growth.

Umm... No, sorry... You plant ten seeds yes. But the clones you take off of each plant is different, yes. But, the clones will be the same as mothers. People plant the 10/100 seeds and pick THE BEST ones and toss the rest. This will result in "the best clones"

^^^ that's considered cannabilsm in some states.... Jk

I smoke cigarettes in the same room and I do not see a difference in anything. Maybe a little more tar... Jka
Anytype of smoke is good, because, it's more oxygen out of your lungs, which is indeed good for the plants
