the pharaoh of Exodus is not actually a historical figure. that whole episode is pure garbage. had the egyptians suffered any of the plagues so named the info would have been recorded. and not just by the egyptians, there were greeks in the region, plenty of chaldeans etc.. had the nile turned to blood or an entire generation of egyptians been slain by supernatural forces that would have been headline news. likewise the egytians (who were almost as anal with their record keeping as the germans) have extensive records of the payments to workers for the construction of their monuments (not slaves in the majority, but egpytian farmers in the off season working on pyramids in lieu of taxes) and no mention of jewry.

1) who was the most immediately murderous? or
2) who instituted an idea/ideology that made straight the way for future atrocities?

Most answers have been of type 1 because it's easier to assign direct damage.
The answers of type 2 are harder to defend, because one would need to show that the idea was the necessary driver for the future awfulness. And it's never that simple. Jmo.

Why would Karl Marx be on the list? I wouldn't hold him responsible for the actions of others, I'm pretty sure that's not the vision he had in mind when he set out with his research..
