if you think you're enslaved to obamacare, you should see how it feels to be enslaved to hospitals and dr's after having a surgery or spending any length of time in a one with out having insurance..

I am not grateful because I know that everything touted about it is a lie.

And I am not grateful because idiots like you think there is some such thing as free healthcare.
Free healthcare?

Well, you should have had insurance.

Why do people think healthcare is a right? Why do people believe that when it gets TOO EXPENSIVE that suddenly some stranger should pay for it?

I never understood that...

Hey why should people walk around with communicable diseases if they want to?
Maybe that truck driver with chest pains should wait until he keels over while doing 55 mph
maybe it will be your family in the other lane when he crosses the line

No, your wife has a company BENEFIT. That is calculated by the company as part of her salary and benefits package.

The fortune 500 health insurance company paid for your glasses. They did not just magically show up built by workers that decided to donate their time and materials to charity.

You dont even see the cause and effect, to you it appears free which just confirms to me that you are quite possibly an idiot...

No we pay our premiums just like you. The real point I want to make is. YOur insurance policy aint shit. Our policy is paid for by profits generated thru people that buy her companies insurance policies
and since she is involved with underwriting in her role as business analyst. I can tell you. Health insurance companies will FUCK YOU OVER every chance they get. They have multiple divisions dedicated to NOT PAYING your medical bills that they are supposed to

Obamacare ends most of that

what happens if you work for a company but they only give you 36 hours of work a week just so that you don't get benefits ?? it's a very common practice today.

and i have a health issue now that i can't get looked at simply for the fact that i don't have healthcare.. there is no way in hell i'm getting a surgery that would cost me tens of thousands of dollars, no matter how much pain i maybe in at times..

here's one for you cheesus that i'll never understand.. my mom collects my deceased father's ss, and has medicare.. but she still has another insurance policy through her job...
she goes and has a surgery, medicare will pay 80% of the bills, say the total of which are $100k.. medicare pays their 80k, then the rest is turned over to her b insurance, who are supposed to pay the other 20%.. they can simply say that they are only going to pay $3k of, and not a dime more.. the hospital will accept this payment and say the bills are paid in full..
now, if someone doesn't have insurance at all, they are liable to pay the entire $100k, no having me pay 20k of it and them saying, oh, that's all you're going to pay?? no problem, bill paid in full..

An internal memo sent to Wal-Mart's board of directors proposes numerous ways to hold down spending on health care and other benefits while seeking to minimize damage to the retailer's reputation. Among the recommendations are hiring more part-time workers and discouraging unhealthy people from working at Wal-Mart.

The memo acknowledged that Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, had to walk a fine line in restraining benefit costs because critics had attacked it for being stingy on wages and health coverage. Ms. Chambers acknowledged that 46 percent of the children of Wal-Mart's 1.33 million United States employees were uninsured or on Medicaid

You must actually read your insurance statements.
Amazing isnt it. Insurance only pays so much and doctors and hospitals accept it. if you dont have insurance you are not only liable for the amount, you are paying more than if you were a insurance company. A lot more.

i also used to work for a place that built those lil lark scooter type of things that you see in say supermarkets.. i used to look at the bills of sales all of the time as i am nosy..
anyhoo's, i would notice that when a chair was actually being billed to a customer, they would pay almost 3x's as much for the same exact chair that was being payed for by the insurance co's..

Then you choose to work for a different company.

Why do you expect strangers to pay for your health care costs? You didnt bother to answer that question.

the thing that they're not mentioning in that article though is that some places consider part time work anything less than 40 hours a week.. my mom worked like 15 minutes under 8 hours a day simply so they don't have to pay her bennies.
it's not like part time means 15 hours a week or anything like that, it's simply anything under 40 hours a week for a lot of places..

i'm not even talking about me ffs... and i have no real answer for why someone should pay my health care other than the fact that the prices for visiting a fucking dr is outrageous anymore.. idk how anyone can go to a dr or heaven forbid a hospital and not have any type of insurance..

maybe if walking through the emergency room door didn't cost you $500 of the bat things i would feel a bit differently, but it doesn't, and i don't..

since you're just innocently and passively "passing along information", why don't you cite what the actual penalty for noncompliance is in this case.

i bet you won't.
OP is too pussy to answer this question. he will come back and ignore it. it destroys the entire claim of his thread.

Or maybe the company could not afford *bennies* for her on top of her salary. Maybe the company would fire your mom and make the rest of the employees work harder instead of paying her healthcare.

How is a line cook making minimum wage expected to get a gold plated healthcare plan worth 3* his salary? How do the economics of that work exactly?

We are 16 trillion dollars in debt because the government keeps creating new entitlement programs. Businesses cannot simply print money or operate at a continually larger deficit and survive.

The number of businesses with exactly 49 employees is going to skyrocket. The number of part time employees will skyrocket as well.

Why are people suddenly OWED healthcare by their employer? It is called a BENEFIT for a reason...

and heaven forbid you lose your job that had ok benefits.. have you any clue as to what they expect people to pay themselves in order to keep benefits via cobra?? i was looking at over $500 a month for insurance for only one person when that's over half of what i made per month..

maybe if healthcare overall was cheaper, and if the first thing that hospitals asked for was your insurance information, things would be a bit different..

i understand that dr's cost money, don't get me wrong, but my god, do you know anyone who's spent any amount of time in a hospital and took a look at their bills?? i can't justify for the life of me the prices that build up very quickly..

we spent $3.2 trillion dollars to fight a war in iraq.. we can't spend that money to help keep american's safe and healthy instead of spending it on killing people??
makes no sense to me..
