Here's something not immediately obvious: food charities start out about the food, but very quickly evolve into organizations dedicated to solving a problem that has won and lost wars: logistics. Getting the food to the right place in time is much more expensive than the food, especially in corrupt and contested areas. In the 90s the great scandal was Ethiopia/Eritrea and the adjoining Sudan, where local authorities confiscated food shipments to the interior, with the deliberate aim of starving their opponents. cnWho said anything about fault? The fact is that there are alot of starving children out there that could really use our help and we aren't gonna do shit about it. Face it, we're all dicks.
It's selfish to point the finger at a country and say it's their fault therefore you don't have to help. It's just an excuse (like your dogs).
I'm being realistic.. I'm not gonna help (well maybe someday I will) because I'm a dick like the rest of you. It just sucks we can be this way you know?
