My first grow - indoor CFL- The Church from GreenHouseSeeds

Hello everybody!
This is my first grow, I got 5 seeds from the GreenHouseSeed company, the strain is The Church.
I am growing two plants at a time, I'm maybe going to grow three at a time if I have enough space, I'll know once I have finished this grow! :)
I've got 2x55w CFLs for the two plants, it's a cheap homemade grow op, but I'm thinking about buying a small grow tent for my next grow...
There is one fan blowing in the grow box from outside, I think it will be enough because the plants seem to like it, the temperature isn't too hot and the air is always pretty fresh!
The soil I am using is Light-mix from Biobizz, I am also using General Organic's BioThrive Grow and pH Down, I am soon going to buy BioThrive Bloom and Bloombastic for flowering :)

I started germinating the two seeds by putting them in a glass of water the 30th of June, the next day I put the seeds on a plate, between layers of toilet paper; one day after that one of the seeds had a really nice root, the other one's root was almost not visible so I left it on the plate one more day. So the first seed got planted one day before the second, me and my friend called the first seedling Marie, and the second one Appollon (yes I know there aren't two P, but whe tought it was better). They started growing in 1L pots. I was really happy with the germination process, GreenHouseSeeds really are amazing!

The first days I didn't put them directly under the CFLs, i thought it would be better to place them near the window where they would get sunlight, but there wasn't enough hours of light per day, probably my first grow mistake! I placed them under the lights the 4th of July, and the next day they had already sprouted :D For feeding and keeping a good humidity level I misted the plants every few hours, they really liked it! Here are some pics:

hi deusmagnus

there looking good
you should not be giving them any feed till they are a good 6" tall
just water (ph round 6.5 is best)

They are getting 18 hours of light per day, I started giving them nutes after 1 week and immediatly stopped because I thought it would be to early. I've always kept the pH of the water around 6.0, the water I use for misting the plants is around 7.5; I started feeding them nutes again after a few days, about 2 weeks after having sprouted. Since then they have always been growing nicely, they have always looked healthy and still are!

Hi! Thanks, they are actually almost ready to go into flowering, I've been taking pictures every day and decided to start posting now :)

Note to everybody: you can see the date of the plantes by looking at the name of each picture, on the bottom right of the pop-up window (not the bottom left, the bottom left is juste the date I put them from my phone on my computer!^^')

I have got a lot more pictures, but they aren't on my computer, once I get them uploaded I will post them with some information :)

hi deusmagnus

your plant do look very healthy so it works for you :)

most the time when you feed plants this young they get nute burn and a build up of salt in the soil

but if you do not feed them for the first 2-3 weeks, the plant away seem to look strong, healthy and builds a large root mass imo

I'm guessing it's because of the soil, it's a light mix so it doesn't have a lot of nutrients in it and I try not to overfeed them, I've seen a little bit of curling in the leaves today, not much actually but I am going to only give them water next time I feed them, wich would probably be tomorrow.

Thank you, sure will!

For all Instagram users: I have an instagram account where I post alot of pictures of my plants and other stuff, so if you're interested just search "Deusmagnus".

From now on I am going to post the pictures in groups, in fonction of the day since they have popped from the ground.

As you can see Marie (the first seedling) has a more indica like growth, Appollon on the other hand has a more sativa like growth.

I have thought about topping my plants but I think that I am going to grow them 100% natural since it's my first grow, I will probably top or do some LST on my second grow (my second grow is most likely going to be a sativa grow, I was thinking Hawaiin Snow from GreenHouseSeeds so I would actually have to top or LST them (I have a limited space)).

I'm going to give them another week, maybe even less, of vegetation and then put them in flowering, I don't want to end up with too tall plants and I'm getting impatient :P
They are actually in 3.6L pots but I think they will need more for througout the whole cycle, what pot size (in L) would you guys recommend?

It is 2:44 AM here in Switzerland so I am going to bed! More pictures coming soon!

Today I went to my local growshop and got BioThrive Bloom and Bloombastic, I am soon going to pass them into flowering phase;
I did some research for the pot size throughout flowering and for 1 month of veg' 1 gallon pots are just enough for flowering so I won't repot them a second time.

Hey guys, I had some minor health problems with the plants, the newer leaves started looking a little bit weird, darker than usual and the "teeth" started curling upwards. Next to that some older leaves had brown tips. They didn't look that bad, but it was different than usual and I thought I should only give them water for a whole week. I did some research and my conclusion was that they need a higher pH, before I was watering them with a 6.0 pH, now with 6.5 pH! Today they looked healthy again, and yestaerday I started giving them nutes again. At the moment they are flowering (2nd day)!

Day 29:

Day 31: This was the day I took them out and checked them out with a friend, then changed the tubes for flowering :) It was their first 12/12 night.

Day 32 - Day 1 flowering:
As you can see I changed their place, the more sativa like plant is now on the left and the other one is on the right.

Day 33 - Day 2 flowering: They looked realy healthy again today, the tops kept growing and their branches are doing great, a little stretching too.

What's up! Today I pulled off the two first pairs of leaves from each plant, Marie has a lot of droopy bottom leaves and that was the main reason, I am going to prune some more leaves in a few days. Appollon on the other hand is much taller and has longer inter-nodes so her leaves aren't droopy, I'll see what I'm going to do with her leaves...

If you are indeed growing with CFLs you may regret not doing some type of training. I say this out of experience (albeit limited). You will have many undeveloped lower buds if you just let the plants grow naturally without training.

EDIT: Nvm, see you are already in flower.

On the feeding schedule they recommend giving them 1ml/l of grow and bloom in the second week, I actually wanted to only give them bloom in their second wrek but I probably should give them both, they are in a lightmix soil so it shouldn't be too much for them, let's hope so :)

I am going to try and get as much light on the popcorn buds as possible, I have seen some very good results on plants that have only been pruned under CFLs, but for my next grow I will be doing some LST!

Thanks for your comments
