Wait a minute April, so if I moved to the city from the country where I used to hunt my land I should give up my gun and no longer be able to leave the city to hunt? That's un-American in my book. Not every gun owner in a city is a lawless ingrate, statistically the majority of legal gun owners are responsible.

Now there should be some sort of red flag approach to buying stupid amounts of munition and firearms in a small span of time. Hell I can't even buy too much cold medicine with out a red flag going off in the system...

People's perceptions change drastically as they experience new things. Some folks are fortunate to still live in communities where they don't bother locking their doors. Hell, my folks don't have a freakin key in the backwoods I used to call home. Fast Fwd 5 years later, I'm living in GA toting a gun by day, next to my head at night. I still miss it to be perfectly honest and am pondering getting a dart gun btw if anyone has any info, Cali doesn't worship guns so much as them good ol boys!

The security system thing though is only an alert and a deterrent, a very nice to have addition to a pistol so you lost me there April?

Ok maybe i'm not explainng myself very well, u guys seem to assume i'm against gun ownership, not at all, let me be detailled about my view so we can carry on

If u live in the major cities where tempers flare causing people to use guns over fists and words I don't think it's a great idea to carry a small firearm unless ur doing a job that requires one for safety, like police, security guard... People who like hunting should be able to own a gun if they prove to be responsible and sane enough lol but they should be safely put away from children and intruders Not carried in ur car or truck cause u lived in the bush, u don't now accept it or move back.

Country folk sometimes need to have shot guns in the truck if they are out in the bush, larger animals can attack, even on their property they need a good size gun able to take down a bear , again i'm not against smart owners having guns for safety, i'm against all the thugs who carry a gun to look all cool and kill innocent people fighting silly wars they create amongst themselves and within innocent families And lets not forget the crazy hillbillie that blew away th frozen meat man
But even in the country people should require rigid mental evalutions to carry guns, so many crazy fuck tards out there.

I feel that if intruders are the problem lets stop them from coming in alarm systems= reinforced doors, bars on windows, direct links to police station when alarm sounds ( some can even ask who is there? if u need help) and cameras outside with alarms to notify u of an intruder, fences, dogs, hell i dunno if i can name them all but if ur gonna own a gun don't just learn how to aim, maybe preventing intruders from coming in is the key to not having to use the gun to begin with.

I wonder which is higher--

The total amount of suicides/injuries/accidental deaths caused by small firearms in a home/vehicle/work

or

The total number of intruders stopped with guns in a home

Unless someone can come up with a real plan for gun controls I dont think they should criticize it. We could go on and on about stories of people using them correctly and incorrectly but that does not prove any point. The reality is that even with controlled gun laws the criminals will still get them, they will just end up costing more. What about all of the inoccent people who have no interest in violence such as myself, that have to live near shady places due to financial restraints? I agree they should tighten there belt on gun control but I don't think only people "on duty" should have the right to carry one. Requiring a course such as with concealed carry should be given to anyone purchasing a firearm so that they must prove they are competent with one and if they abuse it they have no excuse. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I have to say a lot of people have trouble empathizing with people that just want to defend themselves and need to understand we cannot all afford to live in a land of smiles and hallmark cards.

April i think your missing the fact that bad guys or girls will always be able to get guns! Sure you can shut down
gun plants and production of them, but third world countrys will make them and sell to the US in black market
