this is true......since the first day I picked up a gun(12 years old) I have never wanted to be without one. I started carrying my own when I was 14 years old and it has saved my life more than once.

While target practice is good and the results appear admirable, the most common situations require hitting a dinner plate sized target at 5-15 ft.

i do agree in a perfect world situations would be handled with just fists, but thats never gonna be the case so why not level the playin field so you dont get shot in the face is what im presentin to ya?

I totally understand this living in a town like we do with all the gang members acting hard......i have gotten into an altercation cat about 15 yards and my .25 jammed.....I damn near pissed myself.....seriously lol

I distinguish between "training" to a central standard and use ... from "practice" to an individual point of satisfaction. Should the individual seek to calibrate that point (and if s/he feels that s/he is that good) competition exists to sort the doers from those who'll talk a target to death.

Imo the point isn't "training" but proficiency. Depending on the need and intent, this can vary. Jmo. cn

Ideally the discussion should be cosmopolitan imo. We in the USA have grown up with the cult of our national supremacy, like those in so many other countries.
