Gotta love right wing christian groups.

Once again the Westboro Baptist Church an anti-semitic, anti-military, group is planning a trip to Colorado to spread their messages of hate according to their twitter feed yesterday July 20, 2012.

Fred Phelps Jr. started posting on his Twitter account yesterday with messages like:
‏@WBCFredJr - Only 500 miles to WBC Aurora picket. #GodCursesUForFagMarriage #WorseAndMoreOnTheWay #WBCToldU #GodisAmericasTerrorist #ObeyToday Too fun!

WBC gassing up vehicles for Colorado super-picket. #WorseOnTheWay #FearGodFools #GodCursesUForIdolatry #FaceOfGodsWrath #fagsrunmilitary

WBC heading to Colorado for Sunday memorial service. #GodAvengesHisPpl #GodCursesUForFagMarriage #GodIsNotMocked #GodIsYourEnemy yummy!

Phelps tweeted this after Governor Hickenlooper's heart rending speech at the press conferences yesterday:
Get a clue @govhickenlooper! God is at work in Colorado!
Beware of dogs! #Auroradeadincludeslotsoffags!

Fred retweeted Margie Phelps tweet which said "God hates Colorado. Thus the shooter and the death and mayhem - dude get a clue! #WorseAndMoreOnTheWay @BckwrdsMarathon" with another zealous follower tweeting.

I used to be in Air Force Honor Guard and they came to one of our funerals in St. Louis. It was a young 25 year old lieutenant who got killed by an IED and they were there protesting. They weren't allowed on the cemetery property and there was a group (I think they are called patriot riders) that surrounded the cemetery with motorcycles and big ass American flags. They would park in front of the protesters and rev their engines so that you can't see or hear them. It was pretty touching.

I think a lot of Christians look at these crazy people the same way a lot of the tea party feels when Bachman or Palin opens their mouths.

They represent Christians in the same way Al Qaeda represents Muslims.

btw, I understand free speech and the need to protect it but there comes a time when decency is your best course of action to get your message across. I have no clue what these clowns are trying to accomplish, all I know is they protest at funerals. I might know what they want if it wasn't for that 1 fact I can't get over.

Because we all know only right-winged religious groups are bat-shit crazy. :dunce:

"Operation Snow White was the Church of Scientology's name for a conspiracy during the 1970s to purge unfavorable records about Scientology and its founder
L. Ron Hubbard. This project included a series of infiltrations and thefts from 136 government agencies, foreign embassies and consulates, as well as private organizations critical of Scientology, carried out by Church members, in more than 30 countries;[1] the single largest infiltration of the United States government in history."

Because we all know Scientology is awesome!

edit: shit

I have had to deal with those bastards as I am a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. They do have the 1st amendment right to do what they do. But the PGR also has the 1st amendment right to do what we do, to block them from view and make noise so they can not be heard. I am a Christian and there is NOTHING Christian about that group at all! Most of the adults are lawyers and they are VERY litigious. The will sue any and everyone if they can find a reason. That is how they fund a lot of this stuff they do. Just block and ignore them and they will go away. Challenging them in any way will just increase their funding. I also think the reason they bring their young kids along is to use them as shields. Even a pissed off veteran with PTSD would not open fire on that group with kids in it.
One town learned they were coming and the town people looked at all motels for Kansas license plates. The next morning before the event they were going to protest, they found citizen cars parked and blocking then from leaving the motel. They never made it to the event as the towing services were "back logged and it would be hours before they could start towing the parked vehicles..."

They are not a political group. Both sides of the fence denounce what they stand for.

The pastor of Westboro ran for various offices as a Democrat. Failed political hack is failing.

oman that's perfect

Opposition to Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Rodham ClintonDuring the 1992 presidential campaign, Phelps criticized Hillary Rodham Clinton during a speech he gave endorsing Bill Clinton's presidential campaign at the University of Kansas on October 14, 1992. In 1996 Phelps and the Westboro church opposed Clinton's re-election because of the administration's support for gay rights. The entire Westboro congregation picketed a 1997 inaugural ball,[SUP][41][/SUP] denouncing Vice President Al Gore as a "famous fag pimp".[SUP][42][/SUP] In 1998, Westboro picketed the funeral of Gore's father, screaming vulgarities at Gore and telling him, "your dad's in Hell".[SUP][42][/SUP]
[h=3]Saddam Hussein[/h]In 1997, before the fall of Saddam Hussein during the Iraq War, Phelps wrote a letter to Hussein praising his regime for being, in his opinion, "the only Muslim state that allows the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be freely and openly preached on the streets".[SUP][43][/SUP] Furthermore, he stated that he would like to send a delegation to Baghdad to "preach the Gospel" for one week. Saddam granted permission, and a group of WBC congregants traveled to Iraq to protest against the U.S. The WBC members stood on the streets of Baghdad holding signs condemning both Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as anal sex.[SUP][44][/SUP] When Hussein died in December 2006, Phelps stated in a web broadcast that Hussein was in Hell along with Gerald Ford.
[h=3]Barack Obama[/h]Phelps believes that President Barack Obama is the Antichrist and that he will form an Unholy Trinity with the Catholic Church and Satan.[SUP][45][/SUP]

You conveniently left out these details

They have a term for that..its called selective reading.

A frequent critic of the WBC is political commentator Bill O'Reilly, who regularly calls the church "evil and despicable"

Phelps is a disbarred lawyer, founder of the Phelps Chartered law firm, and a former civil rights activist.

Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15 percent of the vote in 1998.[SUP][33][/SUP] In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31 percent of the vote.[SUP][34][/SUP] Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka in 1993[SUP][35][/SUP][SUP][36][/SUP] and 1997.[SUP][37][/SUP]

Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party presidential primary election.[SUP][37][/SUP] In his 1984 Senate race, Gore opposed a "gay bill of rights" and stated that homosexuality was not something that "society should affirm".[SUP][38][/SUP] Phelps has stated that he supported Gore because of these earlier comments.[SUP][39][/SUP] According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore's 1988 campaign in Kansas. Phelps' son, Fred Phelps Jr., hosted a Gore fundraiser at his home in Topeka and was a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention.[SUP][4][/SUP] Gore spokesman Dag Vega declined to comment, saying "We are not dignifying those stories with a response."[SUP][40][/SUP]

Want me to trot out the anti gay republican politicians?

Want me to trot out the anti gay republican politicians?

LOL, go ahead? Not sure what that has to do with this. It still doesn't change the fact that Westboro is not a Left or Right organization. They are extremist who are criticized by both parties. Do you always change the subject when you're losing an argument?
