I don't have a 20 man crew, I have 8 guys between my electrical, utility, and plumbing crews. With my secretary and supply store employees i have 12 total. At my peak I had 22 employee's which was in 2007. Between illegal immigration and people locking down on money my business has been cut in half. This year is the first that I have been increasing profits again after my cut and maybe I have enough work to hire another guy or two.

most of what you see isn't framing, it's cheap security to deter thieves slammed together in one day. the GH is only mean to hold up for one season, although it will have no problem standing for 20 (or would if i spent the extra shitload of money on treated lumber). the idea is to work smart, not hard. not that it was smart of me to stake plants in 90 degree heat inside a GH yesterday, it just had to be done as branches were breaking from their own weight.

I was tempted to go into business for myself, I already had a supply of customers. Just too many stupid regulations and liabilities involved to risk that big a investment. Worked out well anyway. I work unsupervised, paid extremely well, better than regular state benefits because I'm classified as "Administrative and Professional", every two weeks I accrue 8 hours leave on top of the 18 paid holidays a year, and they give me a paid week off for Christmas that's not even in my contract. Plus, the place is packed with hot college babes! Well, actually, most aren't really all that hot. Remember the socially awkward, straight "A" girls you went to high school with? This is where they go after they get past their first year of college. But some of them are pretty hot. Can't touch em tho, well at least not at work. Sigh. Never piss tested because of my classification. Good thing too, I'd never pass.
