400w to 600w HPS Scrog grow

How do you plan to water for 3 weeks?

I posted this earlier so rather than re-type I'll throw this back down...

Anyone have any tried and true automatic watering ideas? I'm thinking a largish drum (around 100 litres), a pump at the bottom with a timer that circulates the water once a day (to make sure the nutrients dont sit at the bottom), an air stone and pump to airate the water and a garden water timer valve to allow a specified flow of the nutrient mix to the plants once a day. Kind of a hydro setup I guess. Ive done a few DWC grows so fairly confident this will work. Just need to do some experiments on flow, obviously the flow will slow when the drum gets low.
Like I said in the first post this is for a 3 week period while I'm on holiday so it needs to be almost fool proof

So that was the idea ;-)

Hey chipper. From memory the white rhino was a heavy yeilder (the reason I risked ordering online ;-)) One of the highest I thought (not that I found out), quality too. Thinking it was to flower a week or two longer though. I could be completely wrong, we are relying on a well worn memory here :eyesmoke:

So yours is a scrog...shit biscuits, it looks good!!

Yep mine is all auto. Only 50lt but last me a week. Small pump hooked to a digital timer(Dont get a cheap one, they fuck up and it will empty your tank). Set to what ever you like. 13 mm hydro hose off pump with a tap to adjust flow feeding plants by watering rings. 19 mm hydro hose for waste. Airstone to airate and small pump for circulation. I have a mate that also has same setup but with an additional 150lt tank to top up the 50 lt tank. 50 litre tank just has a float valve fitted to it to keep its level. Lasts him 3-4 weeks. Automatic run to waste system is all i needed to say. Hope it helps

I'm on the right track then, pretty confident. How would I fell if I slide the door open to a net of limp nothing :o  :x:cuss::fire: bongsmilie :eyesmoke: :?  :leaf:

All sounds good mate. I have mine set up similar on a digital timer. I did a few tests to see when the water just ran through the soil and used it as my base time for flow. You've gone one step better and made it full auto though, mine i still have to top up every week :) good work mate!

Yeh have have read that Rhino is meant to be a good producer. And if you leave her to mature for a extra few weeks suppose to fill to the bream with resin. I am hoping ;-) If ya look at the bottom right-hand corner of pic 4 you can see some screen. You would be quite sad i imagine, you will be alright though mate.

The AK is looking a lot darker in colour, they both look very similar now. Seems the AK is more than capable of utilizing a lot more nutrients than the G13. Running close to 1900ppm for the AK and 1400ppm for the G13. Both could handle more, playing it safe on this run though.

Both had a quater dose of flower nutes 2 days ago and now will raise to 1/2 in todays water.

Also added a dehumidifier, serves 2 purposes, keeping humidity under control and also raises the room temp by a couple of dgrees when the lights are off. I now have an average of 45-60%% humidity and a temp swing of 26c lights on and 15-17c lights off. When the buds get bigger I'll crank up the de hum to get around the 30-40% when lights off.

Shits going good :bigjoint:

Hey chipper, I see the screen now. Still blown away with your grow, the thing I love about growing, the rewards for time and effort are so satisfying, but there is always room for improvement, this is what keeps me coming back for more!

Your plants are doing well mate, nice and healthy looking. Yeh it is a great hobby, always things to change and different things to try. I will be getting myself coolshades next, it is ok now it is winter but summer is a bit rough on them. I veg mine for 4 weeks, put screen in around 2-3 weeks. And there in 30lt pots. Might try one plant next, in a 50-60lt pot. Big pot=Big root system= Big plant. Have a look at Flowamasta's journal you will be shocked!

Did my first chop under the screen yesterday, cut all apart from the healthy fan leaves, I figure they can still benefit the plant till they yellow and die.

The feed today had the AK running 1900ppm and the G13 1680, up a little for the G13.

Regards the fan, I havent seen any problems resulting from the big circulation fan apart from the fan leaves (only a couple) close to it which have a little wind burn. No biggie in my opinion. I will deffinately keep an eye on it though, cheers.

this is insane grow. can't believe there`s only 2 plants out there. perfect grow, it is obvious you have the skills mate. good job!!!

I am still feeding at every water, running 1980 yesterday for the AK and 1680 for the g13. The AK is really taking off now! The G13 lagging a bit but it was put into the room a few days after the AK. Both plants leaf colour look equally lush and dark green.

Thanks so much for your kind feedback roller's

I would cut the bottom 3 inchs off the plant as it looks like there suffering from low light

Cheers for the input purple. I'm hearing what ya saying, what I'm following for this grow is gut instinct and luck. Trying things I have meant to do before but found too many reasons not too.

I have chopped all the nodes that didn't make the screen but have left healthy fan leaves as I am thinking they will still benifit the plant until they yellow and kinda die. No scientific evidence here (that I know of) just figure it seems right.
