It does look too young to be away from mom.

i'm surprised it lived this long as is.

birds need way more than a week with mamma.

last year, our mamma chicken stayed with her baby duckies for near a month. at two weeks this year, our mamma chicken is just starting to teach the babies how to forage for food. they still huddle under her for warmth, even while kept inside the house and under a heat lamp.

sure, it can eat, and maybe stay alive, but what has been done to that bird is abuse.

I think you are right, that pic of the lovebird(with feathers) looks like the ones I took my niece to buy from some crazy bird lady...My niece wanted a hand fed baby to have as a pet..the one I bought her for her birthday was a baby, but more like a teenager I guess...so anyway it bites people hard and draws blood when they try to handle it or feed it...so I take her 45 minute ride to some house I get out of the newspaper..crazy broad in there 40-50 cages of birds..some loose parrots walking around..anyway she wants a lovebird that won't bite and the babies looked like that pic you posted with feathers and even crazy hillbilly bird lady would not sell that young, said come back in 2 weeks and they be ready.

1) I don't know exactly how old my bird is
2) I've been raising birds all my goddamn life and there is nothing wrong with how I take care of my bird.
I feed it every two hours of hand feed mix at 106 degrees (the recommended temperature). I have already taken her for her first visit to the vet and she is in perfect condition.
3) This is not a fucking chicken asshole it's a parrot. It grows differently. It has no feathers because it is young, at the end of next week it will have. if not all, most of it's feathers. It is supposed to be taken away from it's parents at an early age so it learns how to cooperate with humans rather than hard biting and horrible attitude you'd get from a bird raised by it's mother. I've already taught it how to come to me on command, step up into my hand and how to eat from the tiny dish I mix it's food in.
4) You are an idiot if you do not see the rainy nights. Though yesterday and today have been wonderful, the rest has been cloudy and cold.
5) YOU ARE GROWING IN NORTHERN OREGON! I AM GROWING IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON. I LIVE RIGHT BY THE WATER WHERE IT RAINS NON FUCKING STOP. YOU NEED TO THINK LESS WITH YOUR ASS AND MORE WITH YOUR HEAD. THERE ARE MORE PARTS TO THE NORTHWEST THAN OREGON. AND ANYONE WHO LIVES ANYWHERE ON THE PUGET SOUND KNOWS IT DUMPS RAIN COME OCTOBER.

It's just a simple thing of GETTING IT WHILE IT'S YOUNG AND TAKING CARE OF IT EXTREMELY WELL]
It knows my body language and what I am saying to it, like are you hungry or it's time for sleep. When I ask if it's hungry it lifts it's neck up and squeeks. When I tell it it's time for bed it goes into it's box it lives in (until it's big enough for a cage). When I ask it to come here I put out my palm (all young birds want to do is be warm and cuddle) and it comes right to it; or it will snuggle in my shirt of go under the covers on my belly. It's a matter of spending as much time with it, making sure it loves you and understands you

p.s. I will be raising my bird around the plants and in the greenhouse, so expect to see more pictures as it grows

Hahaha!!!! Congrats on your first encounter with UB!! He is an acquired taste at best, considering his troll like tendencies. If you stick around you will notice he is pretty much an asshole. I think the majority of his 18000 posts are from him shit talking to ppl. I think hes angry because teenagers are stealing his plants.

I was wondering about the bone meal. do you just mix it in with the soil?
I also want to try adding Epsom salts, is it too late to be doing this stuff if the plants are 5 months old? right now im battling some sort of demon creature that loves to eat the leaves. so if its a slug would epsom salts work as a slug killer also?

1) I am not too sure if epsom salt will keep the slugs away, you can try your local grow store for repelant.
2) It is never too late to give your plants some TLC by adding nutrients. With the epsom salt you can just add it ontop of the soil, you may also mix it in, either way it will dilute into the soil.
3) The bone meal you should mix about a quarter cup per square foot (a bag of soil).
4) The 32 gallon may just be the smallest plant... so it seems. Though I know this particular strain (alaskan thunderfuck) has a slow start but a huge end, meaning most of it's growth will happen when the buds come.

LOl..nice pics man...those birds are the shit!...an old girlfriend had one that would bite my earlobe...I would throw him like a baseball down her 40 foot hallway..he would squeak n squeak...then walk all the way back to the couch...climb up..get on my shoulder and either take a dump on y shoulder or bite my ear lobe again..and I would throw him again..he loved it!..they got a lot of personality and they are cute.
