Another Stand Your Ground Shooting

I feel you on that....
In NY, a carry permit is impossible to get.... Even just getting a handgun is hard.. It takes 6 months and now they just changed the laws so it might take longer...
And in the city itself, i dont even think your allowed to own a handgun at all except for a select few.....
/\... Nah, that's not true... But it does cost a few hundred dollars in fees.. and takes 6 months + for the response...LoL
I thought the Supreme Court said that they couldn't do that?

i see, SYG laws are designed for the cowards and pussies of the world. makes sense.
Typical, fact-filled, thoughtful rebuttal. A woman, accosted and about to be raped who defends herself by shooting dead her assailant... is a "coward and a pussy".

yeah, she would be protected in her use of deadly force WITHOUT having to cite SYG laws.

too bad for you, that sounds like the only way you can get some.

A guy riding the subway to work, minding his own business, is accosted by armed thugs and shoots them is... "a coward and a pussy"

Cowards and pussies are the only ones who engage in these three activities:

"It, in fact, abolished the duty to retreat if the defendant (or actor) can show that 1) he had the right to be present at the location where deadly force was used; 2) did not provoke the person against whom deadly force was used and 3) was not engaged in criminal activity at the time deadly force was used ... and the potential applications of this exception was not limited to the actor’s habitation."

thank you for citing yet another instance in which someone is able to defend themselves without SYG laws.

UB, you are always "laying traps" as if none of us are competent to navigate your byzantine thinking.

Do you realize that the example I used was the Bernard Goetz incident in New York? Where Goetz was prosecuted for violating the gun laws of NYC, and where Goetz was sued into poverty for defending himself.

Way to go, NRA. The Stand-Your-Ground bills you wrote, sponsored, and were instrumental in getting passed, give people a loophole for murder. All so you could sell more guns and make more profit.
This is the NRA's fault? SYG isn't a new concept lol. It's been okay to kill someone in self defense before they kill you pretty much anywhere in the U.S. My home state isnt "stand your ground" but one can still blow someones head off if they are breaking into their home.. Don't attack the NRA, this is just a stupid situation and it seems to me like the guy is guilty of murder.. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. If we didn't have guns we would have to do it in a less "clean" manner

The NRA penned, distributed and lobbied these bills across the nation. Yes, it IS the NRA's fault.

So, Mr. Seca, what exactly is wrong with the SYG law quoted below?

""It, in fact, abolished the duty to retreat if the defendant (or actor) can show that 1) he had the right to be present at the location where deadly force was used; 2) did not provoke the person against whom deadly force was used and 3) was not engaged in criminal activity at the time deadly force was used ... and the potential applications of this exception was not limited to the actor’s habitation." So this man left his property ready for a fight because he felt it was his duty to tell his neighbors how loud they could have their music? He approached with his gun drawn on private property and what authority did he have? Even if a SYG law could apply, it was not his ground to stand. He approached the driveway with a demand. This man is not helping you in a case pro 2nd amendment. He will garner stricter laws, defend this at your peril.

This is Seca's weak attempt to paint SYG laws with a scarlet letter. IF there was an SYG law in existence in TX at the time of this incident (which seems to be a figment of Seca's imagination), this is not an SYG case. Guess what, not everybody who claims SYG is telling the truth, that's why we have cops and courts. This sounds like a pretty clear case of manslaughter.

But seriously though, he had a flash light, a camera, a phone and a gun, and he used them all simultaneously and with great precision in a life threatening situation. I am never going to Houston, and certainly not listening to music there. Isn't that Ron Paul's District?

Yes, he was multi-dextrous. All of us PaulBots are multi-dextrous, it's a requirement. It helps when we summon the devil from within the pentagrams we paint on the floor in newborn baby's blood.

Normally, I'm don't defend the NRA. I think they compromise too much. I like the GOA, more. But, if what you say is true, I'll have to give NRA props for doing something effective.
Way To Go NRA!!!
