no pain no gain. Yea it tastes like cardboard
I'll have to give it a try

Day 14 - May 30, 2012

Distance: 5.61 mi
Duration: 1:12:44
Calories burned: 646
Average speed: 4 mi/h
Pace: 12:57 min/mi

Aaaaallright, time to add up those totals again! One of the best parts about it all, hopefully we see some progress!

Total distance for week 2 (skipped 2 days): 18.63 miles
Total accumulated duration: 5 hours 40 minutes *
Total calories burned: 1,943

I'm going to compare the most current week to the previous week to make sure I'm increasing as the weeks go by, so here are week 1's totals in the same way;

Total distance for week 1 (skipped 1 day): 16.96 miles
Total accumulated duration: 4 hours 15 minutes *
Total calories burned: 1,376

Differences in total distance: +1.67 miles
Differences in total accumulated duration: +1 hour 25 minutes
Differences in total calories burned: +567

Awesome so far, all goals reached for the week.

this sunday i have a business trip i'll be away on so i won't be able to ride.

i've been riding ~20 miles per day (10 are on a slight uphill) on my road fixie...

i started working the kettle bells more regularly and rigorously... started doing 3 sets of 10-15 pushups each morning (supposedly helps jump start your metabolism each day)...

next week i'll start weening myself away from soda. only drink juice... i'm out of pasta so enough of that....

i feel like starting down this road in 50 days i'll post how well i'm doing being a vegan..... lol

Cycled 38.2 miles yesterday

1700 calories burned in about 2.5 hours. Doing a quick 10 mile ride in an hour to warm up then a 5 mile jog.

idk if it's important but I always blaze before I work out...my endurance is killer when i'm high :dunce:

Left side is me in 2006. 340 lbs. Right side is 2011. 285 pounds. Spring is out so its time for me to get back on it. (Don't judge me! I'm fat and lazy so I only work out seasonally until my bones start feeling better!) ;)

I'm at 275 pounds as of now. And I'm happy to report that yesterday at a friend's retirement party, I turned down ice cream!

Bro, it turns into an accental cycle but I realized this year that it happens EVERY year. When it gets cold, I get lazy, start hibernating, etc...

Comfort foods. Ugh!

I remain proud of myself as long as I come in at the same weight or under where I left off in the Fall.

I always blaze before I work out too, sometimes you just get lost in the music and forget about being tired.

Damn BA142, your posts are making me want to buy a bike and get to riding!

@ BigJon, I do the same shit man, I'll work out and exercise from spring-fall, but once it starts getting cold outside it's tough to run, I tend to sweat a lot, even when it's cold and you just fucking FREEZE up even with multiple layers on. It's usually a small window of 2-3 hours between like 9am-12pm that's alright but any other times are too cold. In the spring and summer I'm out there without a shirt on and it's awesome!

I skipped yesterday to let my body rest a little bit, that damn chafing on my thighs is still happening, I need to find a solution to that shit..

What is the normal amount of calories our bodies are supposed to get? I always hear figures based on a 2,000 calorie a day diet, is that standard? It seems a bit high to me

yea winter is when ill keep my trainin inside mostly cause bein from louisiana i dont like cold at all. the cal intake is really based on your weight an your level of activity. 2,000 is really just a base to put on meals to measure whats in it. to be honest tho ive never looked at calories i look at the main 3 fat%, complex carb%, protein%.

funny i see this thread today.
a friend of mine gave me a 45 day pass to the gym.
I am scared as fuck.
I have always qualified as "obese" but back in high school, I had crazy strength in my legs, great flexiblity (able to do splits in every direction and roll throughs), I had decent stamina, I loved the feeling of the intense workout dancing was. Was able to maintain a steady weight without gaining, once I lost 40 pounds and my dancing got so much better, was actually able to do a heel stretch by my head :) I danced for 4 years and busted my ass
I graduated back in 2011, and my weight has just gone out of control. Im not flexible anymore, my muscles hurt from not stretching, my legs ache from where I have pulled muscles from dancing, my hips hurt from all those years of regularly strecthing them to make them more and more flexible, and then just stopping.

Im so fucking nervous about going back to the gym. I havent done a real workout in ages. But, for once, I actually see a chance to improve my life, just really frightened. Any tips to help me get through this?

lose weight.
id love to get back to dancing shape but ill still be fat, and dancing isnt cheap.
So losing weight is important. I hate not being able to find clothes that I like and want to wear. Hate the way I look before I get into the shower. Plus I kinda wanna lose weight to make myself feel better about me.

well first thing id say is go into that gym with the mindset of fuck how you look fuck the scales fuck all that. gauge your gains on how you feel. thats where most with a lot of fat go wrong they dont see much of a change in weight, but you're losin fat and addin muscle which is more dense so sure you workout for 3 weeks and you weight the same or even gained weight and you get discouraged. dont thats a good sign so like i said focus on how you feel inside and by doin that you'll be on your way to an amazin shape.

id do more high re
p with light weights, but with very little rest. like say you're doin squats and you get 15 out of that dont stand there for a minute waitin to do the next set go straight to another workout for another body part to keep a pace. you'll wanna use that first week you're in there to gauge your strength and what kinda weight you should be liftin. now when i said high rep thats 12-25, but use weight thats actually hard to do not ones you can just pop say 15 reps out and feel a little burn you want that 15th rep to barely go up. this is after you've gotten your limits gauged. thats the main thing really at first dont kill yourself, but push really fuckin hard.

make sure you strech alot before anythin an start off with com
pound workouts like bench/squats/deadlifts/shoulder presses things of that nature. im sure once you're in the gym they'll let you get a one time trainin session for free an if you can tell this dude what you're tryin for. member you feel good you look good!

Im seriously considering getting a membership.
Regardless of the pass. 30 bucks a month. Its less than I spend on weed in a month, but its kinda hard for me to say yes when I have only 900 bucks to my name. I dont really have to pay any bills, excluding my part of the phone bill, so I have 900 to last until like september, and if I choose to go to the gym, that means no weed money, if I buy pot then combined with the cost of the gym I wont have any money for books for when classes start again in august. I need a job hella bad but no ones hiring.

So do I sacrifice getting high for a gym membership?

thats up to you really you can cut down drastically i know when im active most of the day i dont even think bout smokin. good thing is you got a month an a half free. tbh i dont think ill go to a gym again unless i wanna start throwin around heavy weight an bein around hot in shape chicks lol. i just got into this new workout regiment called crossfit. its by far the best package for endurance and strength ive ever seen. and the beauty is you can do most of the workouts without any weights and they few you need would be under 200 bucks and you could buy that gradually. id use the gym to get you in better shape to start a crossfit workout. youtube that shit. that kinda solves your issue for the time bein.
