He said he couldn't order online remember! Otherwise I'm sure he would get those (that is an awesome deal). That's why we were trying to recommend local places.
Oh, Damn, I missed that. My mistake.

In NY right... I'm from the tri state area and I can tell you I couldn't locate anything bigger than 23-26watters from lowes, home depot, walgreens, rite aid, national liquidators etc etc etc. I ended up buying them online. In retrospect, and I haven't looked into this yet, If I absolutely had to buy locally I think I'd start checking photography stores and supply houses. They use high wattage daylight bulbs. (aka 6500k+s)

Yea I think you might be right about that...noticed a lot of CFL listings in the higher watts on amazon are from photography shops.

Lucked out and got a 4 pack of GE 26w 6500K (1650 Lumens) from.. walmart :-P

I now run 5 26w 6500k's, 3 23w 5000k's and 2 13w 2700k's over 5 plants

The first pic is the 5000k's, the rest are the new 6500k lights, I can def. tell the difference!

Your blues are a lot bluer than mine. Mine just seem white when I look at em. The additional lumens and correct kelvin should be just want your plant is asking for. Just keep track of your temps, I was using 172w and my closet got to be 97 degrees lol.

they look white when I look at them in person but when I look at them and squint I can see the blue

It is looking really good in there...except for one thing! The aluminum has got to go. It is the worst reflector you can use because it reflects light at oblique angles rather than directly back to your plant. You can use those visors that people put up in their windshield, they work great! I had bought some relatively expensive ones made with Mylar from Auto Zone, only to find out I could have got some that would do the job well from Family Dollar for $4. Also, some people use the emergency blankets from the camping section at Wal-Mart. Believe those are $4 too!

Yea I was reading around the forum and heard the same about the light being reflected at angles
, it's all I have at the moment but I'll replace it soon,
It's funny man, I was at walmart and was feeling so good about finding the 6500k bulbs I completely forgot about the emergency blanket. Hopefully I can pick one up tomorrow :)

12 Hours later and it seems the plants are LOVING the 6500k's over the 5000k's! The temps don't seem to be too bad in there, one tip of a leaf was burning but the light was simply way to close I backed it off and it is starting to heal nicely, I'm going to wait 1 or 2 more days before I decide to buy a fan, I am BROKE!

Just checked up on them, seems one of the 6500k bulbs died out, wonder why =/

Replaced with a bigger 5000k
