For specific reasons I cannot order items online. I checked the home depot website and can't seem to find 6500k's, I've also checked in person, but maybe I am missing something. Perhaps lowe's may be carrying them

Should I just toss in the extra 5 bulbs for a total of 10 CFL's in there? The other 5 are 4 13w's, and one 26w 6500K

If you have the space then yes. I don't think you will find 42s at home depot or lowes. I checked too and they didn't have any. I got mine at Batteries Plus actually. They should have 23-26w tho. the 3w difference isn't a big deal.

more the better, but make sure your box doesn't overheat. The other things I noticed are, you got way too much like leaking out. Fix that, nice way to hermie buds and the other thing was 1 plant 1 cup. You don't want your roots to entangle themselves, cause problems in the future. But other then that everything looks good, lights are closer I think. I'm sub'd hope this little grow turns out nice.

Thanks, I will put some more in, and the box is well ventilated at the moment the heat shouldn't be a problem so I'll put a few more bulbs in. I'll be grabbing an emergancy blanket today from walmart as well and another rubbermaid bin if it's the same size so I can increase the height on the current one. I will also buy some black paint to prepaint the inside/outside of the bin, then I will 2nd coat the inside bright white and cover it with the emergency blanket :)

Hopefully I'll find a few 6500k's out there, if not fuck it

I had a hard time finding lights at Lowe's and Home Depot too...I ended up ordering some online, but someone mentioned that if you check in the outdoor lighting section that you can probably find what you are looking for! I think I have seen 6500k at Wal-Mart too but it was low wattage. Even if you have to use a lot of low wattage lights, it's still better than having the wrong spectrum. Also, lilrich is right. You can line your box with emergency blankets from the camping section, or those car windshield visors (my wal-mart stopped carrying them, had to go to Family Dollar where they are like 4 bucks).

Imo your issue isn't the kelvin but the wattage. Lumens(amount of light)>kelvin. If you find 6500k bulbs great, but if they aren't at least 23w save your money.

We posted right at the same time lol. You don't need to worry about painting if you get those blankets though, save your money! Man, I'll find out for you where you can get 6500k without going online if you need me to! They're really that important...

Well I currently run 4 23 watt 5000k's at 1600 lumens a piece, 1 30 watt 3500k at 2100 lumens, 1 26 watt 6500k (not sure how many lumens), and 2 13 watt's (not sure about lumens or exact color, looks like 3500k though). I'll see what I find out there, really appreciate all the replies, another "marijuana" forum I've been a member on for years has a growing section that is active probably once a week, so this is like a whole other world for me at the moment :)

@Coach, the closest safeway is 60+ miles from here and I'm in the heart of new york city :( I'll be checking the home depot outdoor section and wal-mart, I'm sure I'll get my hands on some today. Should I ditch all the 5000k's and replace them with 6500k's? Also, 6500k's appear more blue correct?

6500k is the bluest you can get. They may not say its 6500k, they may call it daylight. Yes, preferably replace all your 5000k with 6500k. When you start your flowering cycle you're going to want to replace your 6500k with 2700k, plants like both though. The ratio I use is for every 3 6500k I use 1 2700k during veg and the opposite for flowering. If you happen to find a 6pk of 6500k though grab that.

^^^ What he said...although I have 6500k that just are really bright, they don't appear blue. Like Clouldz said it might say "Natural Daylight" but look around for 6500k somewhere on the package because sometimes they say daylight for 5000-5500k too. If you're in the heart of NY you should def be able to find these lights somewhere! Maybe a local run home improvement store. If you don't find any when you go out looking, I'll research for you where you can buy them!!

Amaximus where have you seen a 6pk of 42-45w CFLs? Best I've seen is a 2pk. I would most certainly want a pack of those.

22 bucks? No way I pay 10 a pop for the ones I buy. Jeez free shipping too?

Seriously though, they're the same 2600-2800 lumens? If it's too good to be true...ya know.

Yeah, it's a great fucking deal. I;ve had that seller bookmarked for months now just for those bulbs alone. I don't know if he'll be restocking once they're all sold so I made sure I bought plenty of them. =D

Welp there goes some more money lol. Don't even need em right now, but that's too good a deal to pass up.

He said he couldn't order online remember! Otherwise I'm sure he would get those (that is an awesome deal). That's why we were trying to recommend local places.
