I would filter it at the intake otherwise you could get bugs taking up residence in the tubing. Make a filter box, (or mod a birdnesting box maybe) and raise it a tad off the ground. Put the filter in the bottom panel so its protected from rain and cover the opening with 1/8" hardware cloth to deter rodents from nibbling their way in.
I`m sure you could have managed the 20ft but 15ft should be enough. I planted 165ft of tube 4ft deep using nowt but a spade :)

I'm just gonna be honest and come out and say it- I hate, repeat HATE digging! Well anything more than a few minutes in the garden... I would have definitely rented a trench digger for that job... lol I've read about some of the things you've buried Atomizer, and I have to say I admire your gusto...

Whew, I havent been around much, but I've been trying to hone things in to get a plant up and going in the next day or two.

I have everything dialed in with the bio control nozzles shooting down from the top, and I'm really happy with how everything has come together. Took a little tweaking to get the sprays where they needed to be without hitting the netpot, but it's all in place.

I really must say, using rockwool is a new experience with me. After I conditioned it in a low pH vinegar solution, it seems like it takes forever to dry back out! I cut it up the best I could without it turning into mush and falling apart, so we will see how that goes.

I put a seed in a damp paper towel the other day to get it sprouted, then into the setup it will go. Fruity Chronic Juice is the strain of choice for my first run in the rig. I can't wait to get started!

I recently realized chopping your own makes it very mushy and waterloggable. Atomizer recently mentioned a salad spinner to dry it out without crushing. I bought a bag of prechopped cubes and won't be cutting my own again after noting the differences. Perhaps the Cultilene brand he uses fares better with hand chopping.

I'm excited to see yor initial results, and don't worry if it takes a little getting used to at first.

I hope in all this new building everyone is doing, they get an opportunity to get some massive roots goin so I can have someone to compare pics & such with. These are looking pretty good, but the transition from dwc to white fluffy took quite awhile. I probably screwed up by not over-misting the hell out of em in the beginning. I've recently upped my on time to 2 sec every 3 min, but my nozzles are farther away now than in the bags, so it works out. Droplets can be seen on some of the tips, but I'm diggin these better than my last ones. I especially like the round shape as opposed to those amebas I had before. The brown underbelly makes sense being that it came from a DWC in a tote. Again I probably could've caught that with heavy mist early, but...

For prospective, this thing is about the size of a watermelon.

It's just 6 mil plastic, framed. I think good access is an important aspect. At least until you become veteran, then you just set your shit, and know that it's right. I've been doing BBQ comps for a couple years, and Myron Mixon (a badass in the scene) says, "hell yeah I only cook one brisket! Cause I know I ain't gonna fuck it up". That's where I wanna be in both scenarios.

thats a great idea! I thought about doing the same but was eager to replicate the atomix! so back to the lab for me!!

My chamber is temporary. I just wanted to get the feel for the large volume chamber before building a more permanent structure. I have some super dense styrofoam panels I'm itching to put to use.

yea I hear ya I just like how evrything is so accesible in your setup Im gna make it so mine has a clear door/ windo on the front that I can open

lol- I remember that poster from the first few posts in the thread- without peeking I think he had something like a penguin avatar. Not surprised he disappeared shortly after... It's true that once things are setup, this is a very easy to maintain type of growing, but you do have to do alot to get to that point the first time.

When I turned on the pump there was barely any pressure, when I played with the little allen key at the pumping head it responded and I got pressure, at one point it started shooting up real quick (past 150 psi) and i shut it down. I probably answered my own question, just wanted to see if anyone else experienced the same.

Are you sure the pump just wasn't primed first- meaning perhaps there was air in the lines that finally purged? The adjustment should come from the factory with at least 60 psi if not more I would assume. Make sure the head (draw height) from the pump's intake isn't more than a 6 feet to the res (I can't remember the specs on maximum head for that pump but someone else will chime in). You can turn off the valve going to your accumulator(it's the explosion hazard) and safely let the pressure go as high as it will until the pump turns itself off (if it's a demand pump) and if it's a bypass pump it will just hold the highest pressure setting and continue to run in bypass. There is a little adjusting to do on the pressure switch, and pressure relief valve. I cranked the pressure switch up and adjusted the PRV to crack open 5-10 psi over what my switch's cutoff pressure was planned to be, then adjusted the pressure switch to ballpark numbers, turned on the accumulator valve and let it fill up and made the final adjustments. Did you remember to also properly pressurize with air (precharge) your accumulator tank while were talking?

Where did you measure the pressure? If it was busy filling the accumulator the pressure will start at the air precharge psi and gradually build as the tank fills. Even if the pump is set for 150psi, the pressure switch would shut the pump down. Is the setting adrift?
